Poto Scanner + Gal logi = 21 dB
Prot Scout + 1 comp damps = 22
Adv scanner + Gal logi = 27
Proto scout + 0 damps = 30
So, there you have it. Now scouts will have to equip two dampeners in order to beat the scanner. And it WILL be common considering the current FOTM status of the Gal logi. And it doesn't even have to be the proto suit, just proto skills. So, now, pretty much all scouts are being forced to always wear at least one dampener in order to just avoid the adv scanner.
Also you med frames are in some serious poop as well.
Poto Scanner + Gal logi = 21 dB
Med frame + 2 comp damps = 26 dB
Adv Scanner + Gal logi = 27
Med frame + comp damp = 34
Come on CCP you can't let this happen it is going to kill scout fittings variety.

Yeah CCP must really hate scouts so many nerfs in uprising and even though the scout is the weakest of all suits with no role at all (along side with the commando maybe) CCP buffs ALL suits aprt from the scout ... |

And the focused scanner now scans at 11 db with slightly longer duration ie impossible for scouts to get below.
I know it's not used much but once cloaking hits I'm sure it's use will rise. |

Ok, now this is a real case of crystal balling. Notice how all the suits got a new class and racial bonus? What makes you think Scouts will be any different? So what you are doing here is comparing one suits bonus to another suit that we do not know its bonus.

While possible, they did not post on Singularity or a dev update us so for what we can see there are no changes.
Besides what do you make the bonus to compete with that? Don't forget that cloaking still needs added and scout bonus to cloak fitting.
They could have changed Db rating on but that is unknown. |

Personally I was a bit dissapointed to see that bonus on a logistics suit - to me the scanner seemed the perfect tool to give scouts a "role", so you could give a CPU/PG bonus to scout suits using the scanner, while other suits would be gimped. On another note, although this is minor, I thought the lore was that Caldari were best at ewar and the scanner seemed to to fit into this part of the lore, but I am far from an expert - I'll let a lore specialist develop that point further. |
