When can we expect to see DUST514 on Playstation NOW? What do you think about Playstation NOW and game streaming?

Europe will not get it until later, likely not until 2015 I would guess, maybe late 2014 if lucky. Ah, that would be another killer, CCP can't release DUST 514 on PlayStation Now until it has worldwide availability. Why not?

Soraya Xel wrote:Severence, if PSNow offers a drastic performance improvement, let's say, and it's US-only, why would any European consider playing DUST? As it is, there will be complaints from people who don't want to buy a new console. But this is a worldwide game, CCP can't release something like that unless they can do it worldwide. There is plenty evidence against this. There are Japanese only games and US only games, hasn't necessarily destroyed playstation, Nintendo, or Xbox launches. Why not, really? Is there some reason why they can't release on PSNOW unless it has a worldwide audience?

A US-only version of a game with international multiplayer affects the entire international group. Especially if there's any imbalance whatsoever. Then I do not understand. The app doesn't offer any kind of performance enhancement or unique gameplay, and I do not see how that would stop people from buying and playing?
As I said there are examples of games with unique US and EU or JP versions with unique content, and sure people have complained but it doesn't stop them from releasing the games.
I suppose the part that is confusing me is when you say that CCP is worried about people complaining. There is so much evidence to the contrary.

Soraya Xel wrote:Severance, it offers massive performance enhancement. The bottleneck in performance and frame rate is the PlayStation 3. However, the PlayStation Now servers can perform at higher performance than a PlayStation 3, potentially, meaning the customers on PSNow might have a huge tactical advantage.
It would be extremely unfair to release that to only a single region.
I'm excited about the PlayStation Now announcement, but you really need to step back and realize that if this is even possible, it's going to be a long way off for DUST. There's a lot of complications involved in a system like that, it's not something they can just say "okay, go" and launch for DUST 514.
So you are saying that DUST514 software will run better on PSNOW even though it was coded for PS3 functionality. Also, what it sounds like you are saying is that CCP is intentionally going to let DUST514 run better on PSNOW than on PS3 because of potential uproar over a performance gap.
Thanks for the advice to "step back", but summer is not far away. PSNOW is going into closed beta this month. It's getting tested, and Sony has a better track record for successful advancement than CCP does. Everytime Sony releases something, it is for the advancement of a technology and science. Bluray, Cell processors, OLED, and now cloud gaming. Even if it doesn't work and it fails horribly, it is still a huge leap forward. They aren't afraid to fail, and that is why I love Sony. Damn the critics, and damn the nay sayers.

Soraya Xel wrote:Severance, the servers hosting PSNow games can exceed the hardware limitations of a PS3. Yes, it could most certainly play better on PSNow than the PS3. There are also software limitations. For example, we cannot expect to see 64 bit graphics from an 8 bit game mod. With CCP writing this game to run its best on PS3 then the PSNOW version will only run as well PS3.
I didn't see "All Ps3 games will get a remix" for the sales pitch.
