In deed. At proto suit level, they'll actually get a better scan precision with a basic scanner than they have now with an advanced. Which means that they'll have better scanners than the current advanced at almost no cost, considering the general equipment fitting cost reduction bonus of logi suits. |

Aeon Amadi wrote:[quote=Protected Void] Bear in mind that a Prototype Active Scanner equipped on a Gallente Logi will only go as low as 21db. A Scout can still, with enough effort and skill, beat this as there are some fits designed to beat the Focused Active Scanner which has a precision of 16db (albeit this one will be impossible to avoid).
We aren't able to see CPU/PG changes, however, so bear in mind that they could have increased these resource costs to make the Gallente Logi more of a specialized role in this field.
Certainly - it's not impossible for a scout to avoid the proto scanner, although I'd argue it would entail an unfairly high cost to do so. Even with the high SP cost a scout suit and dampening maxed out, you need to use 2 of a proto scout's 5 slots to evade one piece of equipment which is a lot less SP intensive and doesn't inhibit the rest of the logi's fit to a comparable extent at all. That's bad enough for a Gallente scout, but absolute murder for the low slot-lacking Minmatar scout. |

I don't even **** with a heavy in 1v1 anymore ^ And I am an exception to most rules
Really? Heavies are definitely way more difficult to handle than before, but that just makes them more of a challenge. 1v1 against a heavy is fun, I win about 70% of them. When I don't, it's usually because I'm doing something stupid or get stuck on the terrain. Enemy groups that include a heavy, though, is a whole different kettle of fish.
BTW: I run an advanced level scout suit with just over 300 HP and advanced ScR. I tank - if having 1 complex module of each counts as tanking - speed, scan range and shields (can't use my second high slot due to insufficient CPU and PG).

In pub matches everything is easier.
Oh well, that explains it, I guess :-D
I do go for 1v1s in Amarr FW matches, too, though. Does that count? |

But who am I to argue with you. Clearly you are: A. More experienced than me B. A much better player ...
Whoah. A little bit touchy, there.
A. I'm absolutely positive I'm not more experienced than you - especially not in PC (I've done a puny 20 or so). B. I'm also certain that I'm not a better player than you. You've certainly kicked ass (both mine and others) the few times I've played in the same matches as me. On an absolute skill scale, I'm pretty sure you're leaps and bounds ahead of me. I'm also fairly certain that I have a quite different play style from yours, though. My post wasn't made to brag about my own accomplishments and skill. It was also not made to compare my skills to yours. It was simply an attempt to express that I think heavies are fine as is - instead of the sitting ducks they often were before - and that I find it a nice challenge to go up against them. |
