Very interesting, double-specific resistance bonuses on the Sentinel suits. I like it. Does "blast damage" mean just explosives, or does it include all splash damage?
I just went from not wanting to skill into either Commando or Sentinel to wanting to skill into both, along with the respective light weapons. Gallente Commando with a Plasma Cannon and an Assault Rifle would be so fun and so very dangerous. Minmatar Commando with Combat Rifle and Mass Driver could also be great. On the other hand, I'm not sure there's enough of a difference between the Laser Rifle and the Scrambler Rifle to get good results from the Amarr, and the Sniper Rifle and Rail Rifle don't serve complementary roles at all. I hope there are more interesting light weapons in the works.

You shouldn't get a refund for skill points you've used that are still relevant and applicable in the current game. I have to disagree in this particular instance. Heavy suit skills should be refunded when racial heavies come out, so that people who have been playing a particular role rather than a particular race have a chance to skill into the appropriate race for that role. Same with light suit skills.
Racial weapons are a different story--since they are functionally different, a player is more likely to use current weapon skills on a new suit. Racial suits are not functionally different; most people are unlikely to skill into more than one race for the same class of suit.

Would still love clarification on what constitutes "blast damage" for the Sentinel suit.
If it means "explosive damage" then we get general resistance to specific weapons--mass driver, flaylock pistol, locus grenades, and missile turrets.
Getting a bonus against "splash damage" on the other hand could be even more useful. That would expand the definition to splash damage from all grenades, forge guns, rail turrets, plasma cannons, etc. On the flip side, a direct hit would still score 100% damage for all weapons, including explosives. This would be my preference because it helps us resist all sorts of area-denial attacks but still keeps us wary of the direct damage caused by these weapons.

It's splash damage. I'll change the text description as it seems to have caused more confusion than I'd have expected. Does that include, or exclude, damage from remote explosives? There isnt really a "direct hit" with them. Nor is there one with non-fused grenades. Well, I suppose there COULD be a direct hit... if you start allowing RE's to be sticky on heavy suits. It would seem to be a popular request... "tag you're it!" It's still considered as splash damage. Thanks for the clarification. I find this to be a really interesting mechanism. More of an ability to stand and deliver, whether you're fighting infantry with blast weapons or vehicles with missile turrets. Well done.
