WP awarded from kills and kill assisting could be diminshed by the rank of suit/ weapon.
For instance MLT lands kill shot on Proto bear. Kill is 3 tiers above ,thus a multiplier is given awarding 3 x 50wp.
Proto snipes with a thales an MLT suit. The suit is 3 tiers above MLT ,so player is awarded 50wp/3. 15 WP for a proto stomp kill.
This would allow under equipped people to earn Warbarge strikes, give less profit for Protobears and more profit for lesser suits. The standard and advanced gear guys could be earning more points putting Proto bear closer to the middle of leader board.
Not "the" solution but a step in the proper direction i think. Also, math mentioned above is flexible. I just wanted to explain my idea a little better. |

I may be wrong but, Sp & ISK payout is also based on the fittings META level. If play a game with my BPO fitting(total meta of 5) and kill some people in proto gear(meta 35+), I get higher ISK and SP then they do if I'm killed because I have a lower meta. |

how do you differentiate between someone with a proto weapon with complex damage mods on a standard suit from a guy in a proto suit with no damage mods and a standard weapon

Meta levels could be used as point values or ISK cost of suit. There are a myriad of ways to accomplish this.
Ignore the math and values and please evaluate the idea of LESS reward for over equipped vs. Under equipped. Honestly the reward for killing a proto with an MLT weapon/suit should be weighed heavily in the MLT direction. That is a hell of a victory and more meaningful to the team. |

If a proto guy that would have been #1 is bumped down to #5 he will earn less still...Making proto harder to sustain. During the battle less warbarge strikes would be earned by over powered squads. Less of an accomplishment should mean less reward. If there is incentive to run something else i think people would. This is one idea.
The difference in payout is marginal at the current state, especially when the bonus for being top of board outweighs the negative. I still think, all things considred, payout leans well into the over equipped category. |

The way this game works is we work for contracts from other companies. In real life other companies are not going to care how you get the job done as long as you get it done.
"Over equipped vs. Under equipped"? If your under equipped that's your problem. If your under equipped your not going to do as good of a job as someone who brought the right gear with them. That is true in game and in the real life. |

Just play the game, Why should fresh nubs be rewarded over dedicated players?
And besides, i could switch from my proto to mlt suit which is almost as good as advanced with my sp and get 15k wp a match with this, think about it.
This will boost vets not help newbs and trust me, the way vets keep getting crapped on in favour of making it easy for newbs would have all vets switching to mlt and raking in 15 - 25 ish k wp a match.

the only solution to this is to join them it is not fair to people like me who spend a whole matches worth of isk on one suit to work so hard to keep it alive AND do good only to have ****** scores at the end if you want a better chance, get better gear, be better in other words better is better, not worse like you want it to be |

The reason your logic is flawed is that new player retention is non existent. There are no veteran rewards when all there are are veterans. Say there is no bonus but only defecit for killing lesser suits. Whatever... i am flexible on this idea. If you mopping the floor with a proto squad in a pub match is fun for you and that you deserve it... you are a selfish prick ruining the game play for so many others. So as far as i am concerned your points are mute. Think of someone aside yourselves and think of the new player base assholes... you people fin stupid or something?... no long term vision what so ever. |

If the Dust community is to develop (expanding the potential revenue base for CCP), then the game play needs to be accessible for new players to start and grow into. Minimizing 'proto-stomping' in public (only) matches is the best way I can think of doing this. Perhaps just banning photo suits (only) for Public Contracts would be the simplest way to do this. (If someone could fit proto weapons/gear on a non-proto suit, more power to them.) |
