First, the forge gun is broken and does not perform to it's stated specifications. The projectile is suppose to travel "at speeds in excess of 7,000 m/s." If this were true, i wouldn't have to lead a target since most engagements happen at less than 400m, this would mean that my round should reach anything with that range in o.o58 seconds or less. Second, why is my range limited? How am i supposed to engage sissy railgun sniper tanks that don't leave their red line and fire on us with impunity. You have 2 options to correct this. Get rid of the red line or give the forge gun it's proper range. Third, every now and then, usually when it comes down to life or death for an enemy tank, my forge gun will have a dud fire. I will see the round fire, but it's not registered. I don't lose ammo from my clip, the round doesn't register as a hit, and the tank gets away. You have no idea how many vehicles have survived due to this amazing stroke of luck. Forth, when changing to my smg, i sometimes get a hybrid smg forge gun or i come up empty handed. This has got me killed many times and i'm not too happy about it. The smg forge can only be hip fired and coming up without means that i have to cycle my weapons 2 more times. Next to impossible to survive when this happens. |

I only use seldom the FG, but so far I've never met the bugs you're reporting.
What FG were you using? Was it always the same?

First off, i'm definately not a noob. Tankers run like scared little girls when i come calling. Second, ishukon assault is proto and hardly a noob gun. Not to mention it's proto and supposed to be super powerful. I have to double up on the damage mods just to get those tank kills and the assault variant is the only one that can do it. Obviously you were never a fulltime dedicated forge gunner like i was. I ran a 9k330 almost every spawn in every match. I never would have switched if they hadn't made tanks so fast or nerfed the forge. You try hitting a moving target that's shooting at you with 4x the shield and armor that you have. Do you want to survive and destroy said target? Because lets face it, you'll be so glad i'm on your team when that tank is taken out by my forge |

I never said it's supposed to be 1337 times better. It's only does a little more damage than the advanced forge guns, which makes it better. The assault has a reduced charge time which is very handy when your prey tries to run away, again making it better. Just because you've used one doesn't mean you are any good with one. |

I've once destroyed a tank with 4 shots from my dau, look at the clip: 4 bullets remained.
I've played with veteran mercs that believed the forge gun had unlimited range. They wouldnt accept the fact that it has only 400 meters range(maybe even less now). No wonder it got multiple nerfs.

Well Ephraim, I'm not sure if you're aware of this or not, but around the time during Chromosome, Forge guns operated just in the fashion you described in your OP, and guess what, they threw the balance of Dust off completely. Dropships that were completely proto-modded out were taken down in seconds to a gun that costs 5x less than the entire dropship. If you want all of what you said and still want to keep the game balanced than i suggest you also limit the ability for you to look up.
Railgun tanks are taken care of Forges time & time again, as long as the forger is competent and knows when to strike. I've seen it many times in this build, and I don't know why you're trying to get this weapon back to being insanely over powered, because it won't happen. |

The round travels at least 7,000 meters per second. That works out to 23,100 feet per second. If my max range is 400m, then my round should be able to cover that distance in 0.0571428 seconds or less. Anything moving that fast will not deviate for quite a distance.

All i really want is for my forge gun to perform the way it should as per it's description. I don't need it more powerful, i just want the range that should come with a round that travels over 4 miles per second.

fg isnt the only thing capable of killing an enemy tank. might be the only thing capable of killing a std tank though. aside from a rail turret.
i dont think the assault forge guns we have currently need any nerfing. but i dont think they need any buffing as well.
i may be unable to use my forge efficiently in cqc but i can still blow stuff up with it. i just stopped using it since the charge time increase on the assault version. i kinda prefer using my swarm/avnade combo for vehicles. |

I don't know if you're aware of this, an RPG, LAW, or any other man portable rocket laucher today that costs less than a couple thousand dollars is capable of shooting down a helicopter worth millions in one hit. Is it my fault that dropship pilots don't know how to use there vehicles properly? You can't hover over a bunch of enemy players and not expext to take fire. It sounds like you were hoping dropships would be the tanks of the sky. Essentially, they are helicopters and if you use themthe same way a modern military would you will take fewer losses.

300m. It hits about 10% more than that, but in no way is it unlimited. I'd need video evidence to support such an assertion.
