Imagine if your payout involves the price of the suits you have killed within the game. for instance,
ex. 1 kill 1 proto, yield 100,000 payout
ex.2 kill 2 protos, yield 200,000 payout
ex.3 kill 1 proto and 3 std suits, yield 100,000 + 6,000 payout.

It is already although it is split among all the team members instead of you getting all of the money for your kills. |

lol no. its based on your risk.
using a militia fit? low risk = low reward
using a proto fit? high risk = high reward
at least that's how I know it.

Erm, no it's not. I've slung plenty of proto stompers over my lap and given them the spanking of their lives while using BPO-fits.
Your payout is determined by the amount of warpoints earned in a match. Which is bad in my opinion.
I think pay should be fixed (you know, like an actual contract), sort of in the same way when you run missions in EVE (do this mission for corporation x and get y amount of isk in reward), and each member of the team gets the same amount. BUT in order to promote playing your best, the contracts should include bonus opportunities (again, sort of how it is in EVE).
Standings should also play a role if you fight for an NPC corp. No merc is gonna fight for no pay at all, so naturally corporations are required to pay a base sum regardless of the outcome of the battle. However if you lose the battle or end up in the bottom five of the scoreboard or something then you should be penalized with standings loss (which will limit your possible bonus pay).
Standing loss could also be incured for other factors (like fighting for a rival corporation).
Quite Simply: I'd like to see isk-payout move mor towards the mechanics or FW, except I don't want the "lose the battle and end up with nothing"-condition like FW is stuck in now.
As I said before, you'd have to be a pretty stupid merc to invest in a battle with your own money and your own dropsuit, fighting with total strangers that you know nothing about at random and accepting not even getting a base salary if you lose the battle.
So, more like FW payout mechanics, but with a base salary listed in the contract before you choose to accept it. |

There are more factors than just WPs. Time is a big factor, the longer the match the higher the base. Position on the board, you get a better payout for 1-3. What the opponent brought to the match, if they bring nice gear your payout will be better. The gear is what leads to the big payouts
It's unclear if you get a better portion of what you kill or if it just goes into the pot and is split evenly.
It would be nice if CCP would give us the formula, or at least an idea of how it works. Are all these things factors or additives? I really feel that a dev blog regarding this would be awesome.

TOTALLY agree... reward should be based upon a ratio between the value of the hardware you destroyed, the difference in relative experience and the usual warpoints for objectives.
Protostompers would then become target priorities! (in theory)
I'll add this... Protogear should be easily identifiable from other gear. Maybe aluminum color or something.
EVE alliance seeks mercs, join Stellar and Orbital Strategic Services today!
Let's gank Scotty.
