Which do you think will happen first for Dust?
Hitting one of these standards should have been the absolute top priority and it's rather remarkable it hasn't happened yet as its one of the number one killers of first impressions about the game. |

No FPS in memory has ever survived long-term with a bad frame rate. It absolutely repulses players on a first impression, and it drives the older players slowly insane. More than bad aim mechanics, more than poor balance, more than lack of content.
The inability to control your character or even see what the hell is going on is the bare minimum for a game to be either legitimately competitive or casually fun. And Dust fails in this incredibly hard.
I worry this game will die with a whimper because nobody is addressing it aggressively. |

We shouldn't have to accept any kind of downgrade in visuals. The game already frankly looks really bad in a lot of areas. Though maybe the graphic slider options could downgrade things a bit further? I don't know, but I would use it a lot for PC. |

Try playing the game in 576p, takes me right back to 1995 graphics, but it at least gets me the minimum framerate i need to play this game at.
I already do.
And it's an abomination. |

They do seem to enjoy racking up the technical debt in every build. Even the choice of Unreal as an engine for this project felt like someone just didn't give a damn what was going on and wanted a quick solution.
And I could go on and on about how "this is what happens when you hire a cheap foreign labor force" but I don't think thats going to be a very constructive point, even if its fairly close to the heart of the matter.
Right now, I just care about how this is going to get fixed and when. Because personally while I enjoy taking things that do not belong to me (for example, districts) to say that I actually enjoy Dust 514 as a shooter would be insulting to shooters. |
