That ******* tank spam in ambush has got to stop already!!!! Seriously, once a team of ******* scrubs decides to call in 7 tanks it's just over. The enemy team has no way of calling a tank in to kill those enemy tanks. Trust me, I tried. I managed to kill 3 tanks before the other 4 swarmed me and killed me. Ambush is the ONLY GAME MODE WHERE I HAVE THIS PROBLEM!!!! It's not even fun for the infantry on the winning team!!! Even ******* spawning becomes impossible due to the freaking scanners on the madrugars that just light up the entire ******* map. If you come and tell me that the bloody spam is fine then you are: a) an idiot. or b) a scrubby tank spammer. I CAN'T EVEN CALL MY OWN TANK IN BECAUSE THE FUCKS ON THE ENEMY TEAM ARE SWARMING THE ENTIRE MAP!!! /end rant
Solution
Limiting both teams at 2 tanks each will solve the problem. Keep in mind that this is only for ambush, other gamemodes have redlines where calling in your own tanks and setting up a counter attack is possible. Besides, tanks rarely get spammed in dom and skirm, it only in ambush that the problem is persistent (and extremely aggravating).

Personally I would just prefer if they got rid of Ambush all together.
Or give it a facelift, in its current form its just a bit . . . . meh!
It just doesn't make sense in new eden, that's all.

Did I ever say it wouldn't be a problem? Ambush has always been a royal clusterfuck but this tank spam is just too much.

One the other team gains armor superiority the match is generally over. |

I don't want to sound like an ass, but...GET GUD SCRUB!!! Get a militia minmatar scout with a rail/combat rifle, basic remote explosives, either 2 enhanced armor or 1 enhanced and 1 basic armor plates, basic packed AV grenades, and advanced nova knives. It's fun and challenging to pop the militia noobs. Just wait for them to appear to be shooting long range, put some REs on their back, throw a packed AV grenade for assurance, and detonate the RE when they freak out. It might he harder to do if they are armor tanked, so you might have to use all 3 grenades.

You try doing that when there is a tank cluster and they all have scanners

Agreed. Ambush isn't a strategic game mode in the slightest, it's just an average team deathmatch mode that doesn't fit in at all with the game setting.
Your "skills" developed in Ambush won't help you in the slightest in the "real Dust 514" (FW, skirmish and PC).
I don't get why anyone even bother with wasting time on Ambush, so frankly I don't really give a crap if tank spamming proves problematic in Ambushes.
The old saying: "Can't take the heat? Then stay out of the kitchen" seems awfully applicable here. |

That's just stupid, cause either way one of the teams will end up getting stomped by 8 tanks every... single... time... talk about a great experience.

Well limiting the number of tanks to 2 will just mean the first two scrubs to spawn will call in Mlt tanks and the real tankers on the team will be SOL.
What they should do is limit it to maybe 4, and then make it so each person is only allowed to call in 1 tank per match. That way if it gets killed it will allow another player to try and it really slows down the tank spam. |

I mean its only a rather bad version of COD Team Deathmatch, its to keep the CODers happy, if you want to do that kind of game mode it needs to remain objective based.
For example you have a series of NULL points, hacking allows adjacent points to be hacked, you must work your way across the map, Limit to 6 a side, sorted.

It's too bad my tank has 100% invulnerability to anything you could fire at me.
Also, I used to do TankBush for ISK but now I feel bad and do Skirmish more. A good Skirmish pulls 400k a match and I make around the same.

I enjoy joining squad finder squads named "tankbush"
it's pretty funny that as soon as the enemy calls in another tank they have 3-4 of our tanks rushing towards them.
Tanks are fun, when facing other tanks.
Just had a game where I took out 4 tanks in my Soma. The scrubs had to bring out 2 of them and chase me down. |

Tanks are just better than dropsuits. This is by design, as CCP were responding to what they heard (most of) their players asking for. After all, they are tanks, and in the real world, tanks are better than infantry.
So why would anyone not call in a tank in ambush? I'm not a tanker at all, but if my team hasn't used its quota then I'm obviously going to call one in, because not doing is just dumb.
If you limit numbers more then you are just telling players that aren't the first to spawn that they have to be less effective than those who are.
