Hey there,
So we know the player market will be coming SOONGäó, and that we will have the ability to manufacture items SOONGäó after. Though, what if we could not only manufacture items, but we could actually bundle them all in a fit?
The special thing about pre fits is that they come equipped with default items. For example the Black Eagle comes equipped with a shotgun and sidearm AR.
-+The i-¦dea?-+ Players would be able to manufacture items and sell them on a suit as a pre arranged fit.
-But why wouldn't people just make the fit themselves? Why buy it off of you? Because you would be able to sell it for a lower price. So a militia Caldari Medium and militia AR would normally cost you 1,185 ISK, but what if I took off 40% to give it to for only 711 ISK? That is how I make a profit and you get a discount.
So here is my question for you, the player:
If you manufactured a custom fit; 1.) what would you call it? 2.) what would it be? 3.) how much of a discount would you give?
Thank you for reading this, you're awesome. I'm Aztec. Aloha.

Yah baby,
Poonmunch Industries is pleased to announce the debut of the next generation of combat vehicle.
All you hipster guys and gals will be stylin' in the Poonmunch 3000.
It's got an Aston-Martin profile but its no rich-guy sports car.
The Poonmunch 3000 is loaded with the usual electronics you expect to see in a high end military vehicle. But there is so much more!
Like a lock, for example.
It comes with wicked custom rims and a ferroscale carbon fiber hard armoured chassis. Dual transaxle transmission and a high-end 14 cylinder nitrogen cooled large block mini-nuc power plant. It comes standard with four quad racked belt fed Ma Deuce's loaded in the back turret.
The crew is surrounded by a titanium-palladium alloy compartment 10 centimetres thick. The outer hull is a complex honeycomb shock absorber layer bonded to thermal fused reactive armour plates.
Plush red velvet seats and smoked out windows for that VIP feel. Air, tilt, cruise, GPS and park assist are standard.
And don't forget the low-rider hydraulics for when you really have to show some authority. 'Cause when this bad boy isn't killin' reds by crushing their throats, it'll be talkin' to the ladies in the hood about your obvious masculinity. With the pull of a lever you can be 2 meters off the ground, clearing obstacles and combat debris. With another pull, you are gangsta hip, ridin' 2 centimetres above the pavement.
The look is complete with a custom paint job.
The Poonmunch 3000. All the cool cats are driving 'em to the fight club.
Place your pre-orders here.

Well Argent(tina?), I would not like it to emulate the manufacturer's skill. Mostly to avoid mechanic abuse.
Borne Velvalor wrote:I've thought about this before many times. Why sell items together for cheap when you can just sell them alone for more? You sell bulk, but most players want to make their own fittings. Alright Borne I see where you are going, but people won't pay extra for items that they can get for cheaper. The way I see it, the point is that as a manufacturer you can capitalize and make profits on items by offering cheaper versions.
As for putting them in a custom fit, well Borne it is most effective for well known Mercenaries. For example if Knifer Maken Tosch made a Nova Knife fit with his name on it, well than every guy who wants to be like him would want it.
I call this the Jordan effect. You know how Michael Jordan has his name on Basketball Sneaks? Well they sell very well and it's because people want to emulate his skill and so they try to buy any merchandise he endorses.
If you have any questions or comments, I'm here. Aloha.

BV-01 Aegis GÇô Never die to AV again! Gunnlogi Enhanced Shield Hardener Enhanced Shield Hardener Enhanced Shield Hardener Militia Blaster Ammo Expansion Militia Blaster Ammo Expansion Militia 80GJ Blaster 25% Off, 125k
AP: Perfect AV: Unhardened Only Transport: Good
Dies to anything an 80GJ Blaster can't kill, which is any hardened STD tank that you engage pretty much, provided you can't tank their damage. It's cheap and hard to kill; works nicely as I move from point to point, wipe the infantry off the map and hack. Cycle for full coverage or stack to become invulnerable for short bursts. It's cheap as hell and easy to use. The hardeners give you the potential to become invulnerable to pretty much anything to get behind enemy lines provided you're willing to deal with the cooldown; nothing stops a triple hardened Gunnlogi but multiple heavily amped proto rails in my experience. Nothing like crashing this through the enemy frontline, driving to their undefended homepoint and hacking it in 4 seconds, completely diverting their attention. Toss a few uplinks down and catch them in a pincer attack. With another tanker, one on each front, you can cleave through the enemy, AV and all and shutdown any deploying enemy tanks.
Many suits I've worn, many burdens I've borne, for the oaths I've sworn.

I'd love to see this at at least a 30% discount, to convince more people to dip into the awesome squad support capability of a two-target repair tool. Bonuses to CCP if we could be allowed to manufacture equipment or modules with reduced skill requirements. Maybe not the full tier jump, but something like a two-target repper that could be used at level 4 skill. Maybe something like a two-target BDR-2. |

I'd imagine people would also want to use the top players' best suit for cheap. Maybe having the restrictions taken off(PG/CPU and skill requirements) of the fittings via different "Tailoring" skills or paying for less requirements in fittings, would make them much more popular...of course players would probably be selling them for a whole lot more than what the actual fitting would cost if you make it but then these fittings would be for the players who couldn't make the fits themselves.
:O Oh but let's not forget about the future ability to craft new gear and modules from resources. Maybe non-NPC given gear or modules could be used in these fittings thus making them much more valuable since you couldn't buy the equipment via the NPC store OR at a steady price in the player-market.
I guess no one can really say whether or not it'll be a really good mechanic but they might as well put it in to let players experiment with it.
