Hey there,
So we know the player market will be coming SOONGäó, and that we will have the ability to manufacture items SOONGäó after. Though, what if we could not only manufacture items, but we could actually bundle them all in a fit?
The special thing about pre fits is that they come equipped with default items. For example the Black Eagle comes equipped with a shotgun and sidearm AR.
-+The i-¦dea?-+ Players would be able to manufacture items and sell them on a suit as a pre arranged fit.
-But why wouldn't people just make the fit themselves? Why buy it off of you? Because you would be able to sell it for a lower price. So a militia Caldari Medium and militia AR would normally cost you 1,185 ISK, but what if I took off 40% to give it to for only 711 ISK? That is how I make a profit and you get a discount.
So here is my question for you, the player:
If you manufactured a custom fit; 1.) what would you call it? 2.) what would it be? 3.) how much of a discount would you give?
Thank you for reading this, you're awesome. I'm Aztec. Aloha.
My alts: GeneralJohnRipper, Draxus Prime, MoonEagle A, Long Evity

Well Argent(tina?), I would not like it to emulate the manufacturer's skill. Mostly to avoid mechanic abuse.
Borne Velvalor wrote:I've thought about this before many times. Why sell items together for cheap when you can just sell them alone for more? You sell bulk, but most players want to make their own fittings. Alright Borne I see where you are going, but people won't pay extra for items that they can get for cheaper. The way I see it, the point is that as a manufacturer you can capitalize and make profits on items by offering cheaper versions.
As for putting them in a custom fit, well Borne it is most effective for well known Mercenaries. For example if Knifer Maken Tosch made a Nova Knife fit with his name on it, well than every guy who wants to be like him would want it.
I call this the Jordan effect. You know how Michael Jordan has his name on Basketball Sneaks? Well they sell very well and it's because people want to emulate his skill and so they try to buy any merchandise he endorses.
If you have any questions or comments, I'm here. Aloha.

Sorry, but the large majority of you have no clue how to maximise/play to the strengths of your suits. I await your scorn. Then by all means post a fit that you find maximizes abilities, so we shall judge it as you have us. Put your ISK where your mouth is.

They obviously has not picked up that this is for fun. I don't play Dust 514 to spend hours pouring over spreadsheets to maximize my build's role. I do some math in my head, see if it isn't utter garbage, then toss it out there and see if it's fun to use. No one needs their validation; it's better to ignore them than to scorn them have this thread thrown into the abyss with the inevitable banter that will follow. Ironically enough, you are the one who have already thrown it into the abyss.
