Aye, I agree. Wait for Legion. If the items don't transfer, CCP has bent all of us over the table and found us in the alps so the lottery is an afterthought anyway. If they transfer, it will be a HELL of a kick-off to "the new game."

This is a challenge lottery. If you click here you can see the different ways to earn tickets. For example, jumping out of the MCC and killing yourself with an Officer weapon is worth two tickets, four if it is a Thales. When the lottery hits the end date, which was originally the introduction of player trading but now seems to be when Legion comes out and assets transfer, Jadek will (probably) roll a random number generator to figure out who wins. The video here describes how it works.
Even if you don't believe Jadek, which is smart, it is still fun doing the challenges as it gives you different things to do. How about killing someone with a melee attack using the PS Move? Killing a tank by ramming into it with a dropship? What about killing an infantry so they can be revived, throwing a remote explosive on the corpse, and detonating it when a friendly medic comes to pick them up? It gives a different way to play the game.

But I want to get all serious for a moment:
Jadek, you are hands down the greatest of the great of all DUST players. The level of dedication and care you gave to this game is exemplary. Some of the most fun I have had with DUST was just doing your little challenges. Jumping over an LAV, Toro Toro Toro!, writing fan fiction, all because of you (and, well, StameGops incompetence). Hell, even the little rivalry set up with the love triangle between myself, yourself, and the peg-legged Romani Princess of Not Jadek added some fun.
Let us all raise a glass for Jadek Menaheim!
