This would be a great feature. Unfortunately, CCP devs have indicated over and over again that they don't believe alliances are an important part of DUST, and they refuse to devote resources to what is, realistically, the most important aspect of DUST as a game.

Alliance support as a whole needs to be a thing. Having to rely entirely on web tools to coordinate an alliance when half your players don't have computers is kinda a pain.

Devs have indicated they don't feel alliances are important to the success of DUST, at least, that they aren't a priority. Which is funny, because my alliance is the main reason I bother to get on DUST.
A developer in my alliance wrote a custom script for tracking our Planetary Conquest matches for the alliance. It's pretty awesome, but something in game would be far superior.

Mikey The Bandaid wrote:That is nice. I don't understand their logic sometimes. If they want pc to be the main draw of this game, they should make it easier to keep track of things regarding pc, especially for your alliance. If they think the alliance feature is unimportant, why would they include it in the game.
They initially didn't. Notice you can still only tell an alliance exists from the forums, there's no in-game indication of alliance on any screen. And the alliance chat channel only exists by popular demand. Alliances exist in DUST because they exist in EVE, and the ability to add a DUST corp to an alliance from EVE is not preventable from the design of the corp system. Once people were using it, they couldn't exactly refuse to provide access to the alliance channel that EVE already creates anyhow.
But they haven't put ANY effort into supporting alliances on the DUST side. Heck, even alliances being able to fire orbitals is something written from the EVE side.
