It really isn't. I hardly ever get more than 20 kills in a game. The fact that I got almost 50 kills in a match without even trying is CONCERNING to me, not impressive.
Gah.
Double Edit: This was the first time that I actually used this weapon properly. I also don't JUST use the STD combat rifle...
Games after this: 37/4, 33/8 This wasn't just a one time thing. I am getting similar results now EVERY TIME I use this weapon and it feels off. I don't like it. I don't want to like it. I don't want my favorite weapon to feel OP. __________________________________________
One complex damage mod The suit I was using cost me 27k isk
I wish I had recorded it, but I was just playing casually. Don't usually record those ones. I did get a screenshot of it though. _______________________________
Okay enough of that...I wanted to make a point here. I finally figured out why everyone keeps saying this weapon is OP. Originally, I didn't understand it but now it finally hit me. (I dont think it is, EVERYONE ELSE DOES, but now I understand why)
I know when something is unfair. I know when something is being abused, or when it is cheap. I don't like the fact that this weapon feels slightly over powered.
But not the way you might think! It's just an ammo issue. Really, the weapon just needs to have a smaller clip/magazine size. The fact it has 54 rounds before reloading is the problem. You can spam the weapon for a long time before having to reload, and in that time you can take out, two, three, even four people.
If we reduce the size of the clip, spamming the weapon will result in the user having to reload more often. With each burst being as powerful as it is, I feel this is a decent enough tradeoff. The Scrambler Rifle has the downside of overheating if you spam the weapon, so why shouldn't the CR have something similar that reduces the ability to spam?
It all comes down to how bad your opponents are when you get good scores...
Ive ran a couple of sub 20's, ran a couple of 30+'s with Combat Rifles, ran a 48/3 with my SCR litterally swearing through the entire match about its impossible to kill people now....and go ...oh ....at the end screen because i had to dodge 4 tanks meanwhile...
Then ended the day with a 58/2 with my SCR, the CR issnt bad, but i cannot run SCR scores with it, best i can manage are low 40's with a six kin.
But not having played for 2 whole weeks was me being pretty crappy in my 5 first games....
Its an effective weapon, ill give you that but its not a 6-7 people killing machine in a single overheat cycle.
PS: do remember that i am known to be bad with full auto weapons, ive played Semi weapons for most of my FPS days and burst weapon are completely not my thing, so for me the CR feels off for me.
