Here are some things that I believe will help boost the income that CCP obtains from Dust 514, some have been suggested but I would like to see the CPM bring this to the table in a future meeting with CCP.
This services are merely cosmetic but people love it.

100% on board with this.
Glamor or vanity items that have minimal or no impact on gameplay had long been a staple of micro transaction games. This would be "free chicken" for CCP.

No, especially for the first one - it breaks the immersion in the universe a lot. Although IMHO a lineage change should be there when all the racial dropsuits arrive. On afterthought a gender change could be available for AUR.

Absolutely yes.

I thought of that but one step at a time, CCP is very slow with things.

I agree with DeeJay here. Wouldn't changing Name, Gender and Linage just be making a new character? It's never allowed in EVE and will never be here man.

Can you possibly explain why CCP and yourself think this type of thing is a bad idea?

Say what? Since when did this happen and where is it mentioned? There are quite a few threads asking for Aurum vanity times floating around and this this the first time I've heard the CPM pipe in on this much less say CCP has already spoken. |

Ok...hold on.
I'm not down with changing names, agree with you on that but how is changing the look of a dropsuit a "pain in the ass"? Living with decision...totally got that, however, you can by any clone you want (mail/female), move to any factions territory you want, were whatever dropsuit you want if you got the ISK (or AUR).
Every micro-transaction based game or subscription based game I've got experience with offers vanity or non-game play impacting items like this for a price. It's a pretty standard product...why not for CCP?

Not like CCP actually holds to the old belief of decisions matter when they keep changing everything in the game, thus modifying the decisions players make every day.
As for the name change, well I am sure there has to be a way for CCP to keep track of a particular clone's name and employment history together. |

agree that gender, location, and Dropsuit should be editable

It is irrelevant to think that everything can be perfectly balanced in New Eden when our mere existence is represent imperfection.
I meant that assuming changes will always occur, there is no point for a player to have a fixation over their character's characteristics and even if it adds some sort of "depth" it is better to have ability to redefine your character so long the history of it remains attached.
The "Name Change" can be perceived as for going to a interstellar court and making a case for it.
The "Gender Change" can be a transgender operation, which I doubt is needed since our mind can be transferred to any fresh clone of any type at the moment of death.
So the "Linage Change" is similar to going to a Gallente court and renouncing your citizenship in favor one from the Caldari State. |

I'll buy the second two, I agree logically with the first but there are complications IRL that if transferred in game would cause havoc which is why no name changes...

The biggest thing about these ideas is that they are the sort of thing that would transcend DUST. I'm kinda for name changes, but there's a lot that has to be done to add it, because CCP values your character's long-term history. Your old name(s) would have to be on your public profile, and it would have to be made available to both EVE and DUST players simultaneously. It'd be a pretty big CCP-wide decision, and given that EVE is the leading edge at the moment, I imagine that would have to be a decision made by EVE folks first.
I'd like to be your CPM1 candidate

Understand that vanity items inside of DUST is not truly possible. In EVE Online, vanity items are possible, like the dreaded Monocle, because you do not need to continuously animate vanity items on a player. Quite literally its a picture of your pilot (in EVE) that you take and its uploaded to the Servers. When the profile is requested the image is downloaded and that's all. Vanity items in DUST would strictly have to be on the profile of the player, and nothing more. This means that color schemes, vanity items, and the like are not possible to put on the identical dropsuits currently existing in DUST. This is done so that the Frame Rate can be streamlined and all resources available locally instead of stored on the already taxed DUST servers.
Vote me for CPM1, A Conduit for change
