Can we get an (over the shoulder view) Mortar? With an dotted line arch to where its gonna hit and an AOE circle on the ground? Make it a long reload, a short setup time, and optional rounds for vehicle shield or armor, infantry, or anti-equipment? or it could fire the grenades that are already available. Let me know what you guys think. |

Mortar de activates when it goes into enemy redline? That sounds rather reasonable. Both into and out from redline of course.
I want this weapon to have risks with it, the mortar isnt without Cons For example: You cant move while firing this thing, its stationary. It takes time to setup It doesn't have enormous range like a sniper rifle so your going to be alot closer to the action. It has a time delay while in air from firing to landing like all weapons.(I'd prefer a static time over increased flight time but increased deff. requires more skill) So your target could just move unless they are staying still. Although you will get a "third person view" its only enough to see over the ridge your firing over. not over buildings. Once fired the projectile could leave a temporary smoke trail, so someone who's observant can see where its being fired from. This would aid in a none camping mentality basically having to move after a few shots. So even when you fire, you gave your position away.
Im not saying its perfect but a skilled player could use it effectively. You either need to physically see the target or have some luck or serious teamwork |

This would be an interesting concept unto its self. A man on your squad has spotting equipment and the other has the mortar. The spotting equipment isn't required but you could take your shots from your teams spotting gear. (1 slot required for binoculars) This would allow the weapon to be powerful and team-work orientated or you have to be in direct eye sight of your target. I would love to see that tested. |
