You want people to play this game so .. sell it
Why should I and other people who have left the game come back .. what is coming over the next few patches that is worth coming back to play ?
Why should a new player come and play this game instead of another game ? What do you have to offer new players ?

You know that DUST has a new executive producer? He hasn't been in Shanghai for long. Give him a few months to develop a plan and start implementing. FanFest 2014 would be about perfect for them to have enough done to announce something.

Sigh
I honestly don't feel like explaining the concept behind F2P and micro transactions and why it is in actual fact a business model rather than the charity you seem to think it is.
Your living in a dream world
If no one spends money on this game then the game will get pulled
You really should go around thanking anyone who has spent money on this game because if they didn't you wouldn't be able to play this game ..

Am I really the only person who understands the F2P model ?
Where did I say that they 'owe' me anything ?
IO asked for reasons why I should come back and play the game and why new players should come and play this game ... how does that have anything to do with being owed anything ?
All games need players .. especially F2P games .. they survive on micro transactions instead of 1 of payments or subscription fees

You feel they owe you a reason to play it. Don't like it don't play it and move the **** along. Quit your bitching and go find something you enjoy. How hard is that to understand? They took the risk to make the game F2P, you can play it with out paying a dime. If no one pays they write it off as a loss and move on just like you should.

His questions are valid. CCP is selling us a product and they have to make it attractive enough to bring players in.
You may or may not be spending cash, but someone is and that is absolutely required. No profit, no business, no game.
Even if you aren't spending cash you are spending your time in match. CCP needs a certain level of activity to make the experience something that a few are willing to pay for. So in effect you "work" for them by providing someone for the paying customer to shoot at. The place would be a ghost town if matches were limited to those who spent cash.
Nothing is free, not even something like DUST. You pay in cash or you pay in time. |

Dear lord, the lack of tact with which OP is begging for attention actually pains me.
Inflammatory opening gambit followed by a blatant assertion of dominance in response to nearly every criticism. It's even so primitive a display of status-seeking that he goes for low hanging fruit like attacking alleged virginity.
Most of OP's contributions in this thread could be replaced by a single post stating "I am clever and you are not" and if OP is actually interested in finding reasons to play DUST, the thread is a poor attempt at eliciting that information.
Please refrain from utilizing such inflammatory sarcasm in the future. GÇö CCP Eterne

Psyon Sebiestor, I gotta give you credit there is a flood of ignorant responses to your post but yet you continue to keep your cool..
I've never understood these fucks who think just because its a free to play game CCP doesn't owe the player base the respect, and communication that comes with running a business..
I seen your post as speaking for a wide majority, paying or not, a lot of people have quit or taken a break the numbers speak for themselves.. Im with ya, CCP needs to improve the appeal of this game drastically.. For those people who have responded with such ignorance, I'm sure will continue to sit ideally by as we drop below the 3k mark.. |

The questions the OP ask do have some merit. However this game is not geared towards attracting hoardes of new players like COD or other games where everyone can succeed equally because all the weapons and perks open very easily and quickly.
That being said this game does have a lot offer the intelligent thinking gamer who understands the mechanics of a semi role playing free to play first person shooter that a little bit at a time will be tied more into EVE. There are others out there that enjoy a hard road of skilling up to get better gear. The interaction between players and building corps and alliances is another draw for some of us who play because we actually enjoy hanging out with our chosen corpmates.
Yes the game has glitches and holy shite tanks arefukd at the moment but this will pass. This game is not for 13 year olds who will get mad cause they can't 20/2 the first day they play, that's what COD is for. And yes I and others have AUR and boosters but that is not what has kept this game alive, nor will it be in the future.
If the reasons to play have to be explained to you, you are looking at this like buying a new car, this game is not a new car and frankly if people get that technical about why to play a game, maybe they should move along...

I do the same thing, I pretty much stopped playing from 1.4 until 1.7. I am also a long term EVE player so I've seen how CCP works over the long haul, improvements will come in time. They also like their data, so I suspect the tank spam was somewhat intentional so they have plenty of data to look at when addressing changes to AV.

True, but if you read the OP you will note he wasn't claiming that CCP owed him anything.
He was asking them what they had to offer to entice him to work for them. It's a legitimate question and one you should be asking as well. |

Yah, that sounds highly probable. Hopefully it doesn't take them three months worth of data to go to the next step. They did say that 1.7 was just the first step to vehicle balance and that we probably wouldn't like it.

I'm part of the group that tries not to advertise for this game. It would do more harm than good at this time.
As far as bringing back people is concerned several we're waiting on me to sound the bugle. Unfortunately I haven't had anything good to say and their past resentments over being treated shoddily seems to have festered. When the game finally tips from "crappy" to at least "OK" I will try. Most of them knew me from the Eve Online days when they had me running multiple corp wallets in the billions for T2 battleships, T3, and Cap construction through Highsec POSes. So they they might give this game a second chance, either-or I don't want to jump the gun.
