Have you ever bought any aurum in dust?
If not then you can't really call yourself a "customer", because ccp has made exactlty zero money of of you using their services.
If you have bought aurum then the next question would be: did any of the articles you purchased with aurum not live up to their descriptions? |

To all in the thread, just wanted to say this was for the most part one of better threads I've read in a bit. For the most part everyone is earnest, minimal flaming, and ultimately seems like everyone is looking for ways to make the game better even if there is disagreement on how to do it.
Generally my thoughts on the numerous points made...
CCP only owes us what any business owes the customer base it's catering to...nothing more and nothing less. Essentially they have adopted the "games as a service" business model (good topic for Econ, marketing, and sociology projects btw) and interactions with them should more resemble how you interact with any other service related business.
It would be interesting to get some insight into the CCP marketing strategy and how they view Dust. Marketing has two essential functions, customer base expansion and customer retention. I think we would all agree that those two areas are in a bad spot right now.
To the OP...I'm actually pretty keen to see what happens at FanFest and before that 1.8 and 1.9 based on the pretty strong comments from CCP Rouge, the recently installed EP. In short, he's talking a good game on the margins with discussions of scout and logi refresh, a chunk of racial suits, new equipment, and moving PVE up to top priority...let's see where it goes. |

Then please explain to one of these "fucks" (namely me) why they owe a bunch of people something who might not have spent a single cent on dust while playing?
It's sort of like that guy who always comes into a store and flip through the magazines without ever buying one suddenly turning to the owner and demanding this and that because he's a "part of the store community" or some ****, despite never ever having made the store any kind of profit.
If Dust 514 had a mandatory monthly fee then I'd have agreed with you. But it doesn't, it's free of charge. |

Why should I and other people who have left the game come back .. what is coming over the next few patches that is worth coming back to play ?
Why should a new player come and play this game instead of another game ? What do you have to offer new players ?

CCP wants your cash first, and if it can't get that now it wants your toon in match to be a target for paying customers. To do this they need to convince you that it's worth your money and/or time.
They "owe" you entertainment in exchange for your time and/or money. That's the implicit bargain.

Facepalm Y'know, most of the time when I'm shopping, if I see a product a business produced that I don't want, I generally keep walking. I don't demand that the nearest employee get me in contact with the CEO of the company so I can personally tell him how ****** his product is and how he should make it suit my every taste.

You don't have to play Dust. You can just continue playing the forums if you like.

Good thing is, that your passive SP keep ticking up, and you can come back in 1 year to try a completely new role.
If it wasnt for this mechanic making the game replayable, Dust would have been dead long ago ;P
Doesnt matter in Dust 514: PC. FW Standing. Tanking Type. Other mods than DMG or HP.
Does matter in Dust 514: Rifles.

Mithridates VI wrote:Dear lord, the lack of tact with which OP is begging for attention actually pains me.
Inflammatory opening gambit followed by a blatant assertion of dominance in response to nearly every criticism. It's even so primitive a display of status-seeking that he goes for low hanging fruit like attacking alleged virginity.
Most of OP's contributions in this thread could be replaced by a single post stating "I am clever and you are not" and if OP is actually interested in finding reasons to play DUST, the thread is a poor attempt at eliciting that information.
Instead of summarising the contempt with which I treat those who attempt to troll on this thread why not try actually answering the OP
I do have another 2 questions for you though ...
1. Explain how the OP is inflammatory 2. Explain how asking 2 questions directly asking for the information i'm looking for, is a bad way to go about getting the information I was looking for ?
You obviously spent alot of time making your post as eloquent as possible yet that doesn't stop the content of the post being nonsensical.

Psyon Sebiestor wrote:Instead of summarising the contempt with which I treat those who attempt to troll on this thread why not try actually answering the OP Because the OP didn't interest me at all. People post callout threads targeted at CCP every day and yours was not among the most memorable.
Psyon Sebiestor wrote:1. Explain how the OP is inflammatory The first hint that your messages was received as being antagonistic is the immediately defensive reactions it received.
The tone of "Okay then, CCP. Tempt me back." reads as though you are a scorned player, finally deigning to offer CCP a chance to win your heart again, which to me was entertainingly presumptuous but it's a way of framing the conversation which is likely to elicit scorn from other players. It pretty clearly establishes that there's a pre-existing conflict for which you are putting the burden of resolution on CCP.
Psyon Sebiestor wrote:2. Explain how asking 2 questions directly asking for the information i'm looking for, is a bad way to go about getting the information I was looking for ? I will not address your strawman but instead respond as though you had read my post. The reason why "if OP is actually interested in finding reasons to play DUST, the thread is a poor attempt at eliciting that information." is because of the aforementioned framing of the conversation as a conflict, followed by escalation of that conflict by way of responding to replies with obvious contempt and ad-hominem. This is setting up the kind of hostile relationship with others which is unlikely to be productive.
Psyon Sebiestor wrote:You obviously spent alot of time making your post as eloquent as possible yet that doesn't stop the content of the post being nonsensical. Thank you for the backhanded compliment to my eloquence. It didn't really take too long to write but it's amusing that you need to assert that it must have.
Please refrain from utilizing such inflammatory sarcasm in the future. GÇö CCP Eterne

Want a good reason?
Simply knowing that my character constantly grows SP is really giving me alot with DUST. Its an RPG in between all the shooting.
And we all know DUST will eventually...make it onto PS4, but by then many of us may have forgotten it. But I am equally sure I will be playing it even more than I have played the closed beta on PS3. With CCC, patience is key. Its not easy to deal with and nobody said it would be. |
