So for the past few days I've been playing scout on my new ALT. The only skill points I used were to get level 1 remote explosives and level 1 nova knives.

My fit:

Militia Minmitar Scout
Militia Kin Cat
Militia Cardio Reg
Militia Shotty
Nova Knives
Remotes

All these people you see arguing that payouts are fine and solo play is awesome are probably the ones AFKing with alts.

My problem lies with the fact you're playing scout on an alt....
Nothing wrong with making alts, or trying different roles.

I do however find it offensive for players to say the suit I skilled into from day 1
is fine because they decided to try it, while having a completely different character to fall
back on.

Scouts don't seem bad when you have a med frame to go gank with.

Nice try getting new berries to pick up one of the worst suits in game
to become more KD padding.

What you fail to notice in your awesome time as a scout is that you could easily adjust your logi fit to do a better job of what you are doing now with your scout. With more ehp.

Sorta glanced at OP post before posting, but yeah if you want to really head into the realm of forbidden fruit, go full scout.

Anyway, it does say a lot about the state of scouts as the real last of the ninja cowboys when other frames can do the same as scout.

Been pretending I'm playing Metal Gear Solid and no one can see me or the level is over. So far I have had pretty good results and a lot of fun. One thing I've notices is maaaaaan, red berries are just as stupid as blueberries when you're stalking them. People almost never check for remotes on null cannon terminals. More than once this scenario has happened.

1. sneak out to their home point
2. take enemy home point and set explosives
3. wait for some ding dong to wander over from their spawn
4. blow him up
5. run up and shotgun his buddies or just reset explosives
6. repeat

This gives me so much enjoyment. I know everyone says speed tanking is dead but I'm doing it anyways because it is fun to run fast. I'm just posting this because I now know that scout is not broken or useless. It just requires extremely passive play and some patience. The shotgun is awesome. I'm killing protos on a damn 560,000 SP character in mostly militia gear. I kind of want to send them a message after I kill them and let them know that this dude is only 2 days old but I have not done that yet.

So new players, if you are having trouble getting protostomped. Try this. Make a little militia scout fit. And sneak around and only kill people who are asking for it. It's a blast!

although i am not a "real" scout, some games i will play 100% in a militia mini light frame with advanced kinkats and stamina mods.

you can get a lot of WP's from uplinks and hacks, i always get over 1k WP's.

i will unlock mini scout for the hacking bonus as i enjoy this style of play and the scout suit is the best at this type of work.

As for a combat scout......tbh i don't think that the scout is a combat suit. if you ant to be a slayer why play scout?

The militia minmatar light frame is surprisingly competent when compared to the other scout frames.... It's lack of a high slot doesn't seem to impact me too much, as an extra shield extender or even two usually isn't gonna increase my longevity enough to really matter. It's still extremely disadvantaged when compared with the medium frames, but that is beside the point....

The speed is great for point defense, getting to things quickly for kills or causing chaos after an RE explosion. There are a number of proto suit players that do just walk into remotes.... good times indeed. I always enjoy making them pay.

As much as it's fun to be where the action is, if I'm going solo sometimes I just hold one objective down and hope the 15 other blueberries can manage to do the rest.... It can be boring but I'd rather go for the win than the KDR.

But dude, if you were only investing level 1 in remotes and level 1 in knives, why not just do this on your main? You'd have better core skills...

Playing a scout on an invested main character, against stacked odds and superior SP opponents in superior suits, when KDR, win/loss, corporate standings... well, if you are willing to do that and *then* tell me scouts are OK....?

Then I may believe you.

This might be true but I gotta need for speed and the logi suit just ain't doing it like the light frame. I don't care about EHP. If I'm doing what I should be doing they won't even get a chance to fire a shot.

My point is, you play med frames, then try out light frames saying they're okay.
Wut? It'd be easy to pad your KD if you convinced everyone to try a measly 200 ehp suit while you're on your 500+ ehp suit with any weapon capable of killing a scout in less than a half a second.

Go up against a squad of logis with proto scanners.... Oh, but only after you've put in 5mil sp into SCOUT suits.
Don't say my suit is fine when you main one with triple my ehp.

Logis have more cpu and pg to fit kincats without having to sacrifice as much as a scout suit would. Not to mention being able to add profile damps, or range enhancers etc. Additionally, the extra equipment slot on a logi enables you to have multiple roles on the same fit, where as many exclusive scouts have to have multiple fittings in order to drop uplinks at the beginning of a match, and later on use REs.

And you can minimize ehp if you would like, but its easier to run away from a fight if you aren't dead before you can even be able to react to being shot at.

Not very excepting of new scouts eh? lol I mean, if your suit sucks so much you should be happy people show interest in it anyways, so maybe CCP will open their eyes and fix it. I run Amarr Logi with plasma cannon and proto equipment on my main so try again on the whole KD padding thing. My KD sucks so that is just the wrong argument in this case. I am a WP ***** through and through. I will always find a way, in any role, to ***** the most WPs. That's just my gift. Deal with it.

I'd be more accepting if people actually tried and used the suit more than a few days/weeks.
Tourists usually don't even last 1 patch.

Ahh roofer man, me and kane made a 6 man scout squad the other day and it actually worked quite well! o_0 we were shocked and surprised!

I'm thinking we need to get the old crew together , I wonder what an entire team of scouts could do? (Except, you know, DIE lol)

Or maybe the grass is just greener on the top side of the killboard... lol My fit costs 8,000 ISK and I generally end top 5 and get paid somewhere around 200,000. That's the way to AFK. Play scout and don't spend much and kick ass.

I run a ninja and get about 90% of my kills with knives in any given match. It's surprisingly doable, and lots of fun sometimes.

I'd like to run with a group of scouts. Just swarm a red dot and gang stab him like he was Julius Caesar. 1 person with remotes. 1 with scanner. 1 with hives. 1 with uplink. 1 with needle. 1 with reps. swarm objectives. fun fun fun

We need to squad back up sometime. I haven't played with you in awhile

I try to, and then quit when my pure support logi get's melted due to terrible blueberries.

Then I pick my scout back up and go to town.

Important thing to note, is that I don't go around telling everyone how to play a Logi after two rounds with it.

Not saying that you did, but a lot of tourist's do that. Which is why we hate them.

I have my red bottles to L4 and greens to L3. My shield skills are maxed and my dampening is L5.

This thread pushed me to start killing into the Min Scout suit. If nothing else it's going to be fun to speed around to battlefield.

I can't decide on Minnie or Gallente scout. I want the knife bonus and that speed but that range amp bonus is pretty sweet too. Plus, somehow I think having 4 low slots on a scout will be awesome. But that's a long way off for me. The whole concept of this idea for me is to not spend any ISK. Oh, and I lied earlier. I said my fit was 8,000 ISK. I looked at it. I was wrong. It's only 4,000 ISK. lol Think I'm gonna stick with it and just use SP to increase passives on the fit. I wanna see how beast this militia **** can be!!!
