I work 40 hours a week. I do not make a lot of money, but I do make enough to play Dust as a work destresser. This life style affords me certain times to play and having some other people to group with during these times would make my game time much easier. Here is what I offer...
Available between 8pm - 12am PST (USA west coast timezone)
'New' character; skilled into Lvl. 1 Minmatar Assault/Logi, Lvl. 1 Railguns, and opened up shield skills to Lvl. 1 with last of starter 500k skill points.
I have a mic and can Sonic/Tails as needed during matches. I have no issues with following directions during a match.
My awareness is high enough to where I can pick up stuff happening around me but my 'FPS' experience is low.
I will be running Minmater FW for sure when I feel ready to play at that level.
...and here is what I am looking for...
Other people who are available to play during these times as well, I would like people similiar to my skill level or are willing to let a newbie roll with them for some matches. I do not care who I play with, as I am laid back enough to just play with whomever.
Remember, I am 'new' to Dust so do not expect me to know how each level is setup right off the bat. I am learning the maps and such still.
Mic is a must. Typing is ok if you have a keyboard and can respond right away.
If you can not watch for events on the map or have tunnel vision when the combat gets heavy, be able to follow instructions if they are given.
Here is what I am NOT looking for....
Recruitment harrassment from corps to "join a corp" to find what I am looking for. About 99.6% of the corps I have seen so far have the most ******** names. No, I am not interested in joining your corp either, but I will squad up and run some matches with you.
...thats mostly it. I understand that making this kind of post is gonna get flamed in all sorts of ways when I check in on this tomorrow evening. I can imagine it now. If any of you are interested, add me on PSN and look for me in-game. We can chat on mic to set something up. Same name on PSN as here "Aaronjin"
thank you all "Aaron"

Salutations, Aaronjin.
Welcome to a game that is as much a "de-stresser" as a frustrating game of golf, when you are a beginner.
But it is probably GOOD that your 'FPS' experience is LOW. Much of the frustration that many players have with this game (and this game ALONE) is that their typical FPS used some playing mechanics that we consider CLASSIC and easy-to-beat (easy to cheat?). Dust 514 feels like it bizarrely rebels against the typical FPS "experienced" player. This is partly due to the EVE Online computer game that Dust gets its storyline from, and partly due to Dust just wanting to be a NEW and DIFFERENT type of FPS. For one thing, it almost demands some kind of TEAM and SOCIAL cooperation from players during gameplay---it seems to give the most assist and least humiliation to those of us who COOP and communicate with each other. For those of us who like to run around solo and shoot things without finding tactics related to the players around them, this game can be VERY HUMILIATING to your fps ego.
So what you have done here is superbly SOCIAL and very "EVE" of you. It should give you a great edge over many new players. Those of us who learned to get very coop-interactive TEND TO feel they have success and incredible fun in Dust...
I specialize in a transport vehicle (dropship), so my fun in the game is supporting and covering other players on the battlefield. In the process of learning my trade, I've had to learn how to be EVE-social with Newberrys and other players. There ARE lots of Dust players like me. As you find "the right crew" for you to hang with, I recommend you use the options in the mail/search menu to "ADD CONTACT" for each of their names. It allows you to send instant invites, so they can morph directly into your created squad in whatever match you happen to be in.
I play 10:30 pm to midnight (US EAST coast timezone) nearly every night, and am holding a learning squad tonight for anyone who wants to experience ways to reach objectives with a dropship as your support and back-up. If you'd be interested, tonight open the chat-menu and type a search for... "Learning Coalition". You can find me on that chat channel. I use a MIC.
Thanks for the post, Aaronjin! |

i like casual, but no listed times and "add a whole corp" suggestion. nty. contact me here directly or ingame if you need too, i will not be adding a "whole corp" of people who 'sometimes' plays....im trying to avoid that inactivity trap

The Learning Coalition is a top-tier squad-finder, rookie-trainer, and radio all in one!*
Just join the channel, say LFS, and enjoy our wonderful staff and students. :D
*LC Radio is when our teachers/students switch from Squad Chat to Learning Coalition chat. Not for any reason, and it's not informative at all, it's purely to relax and make jokes. You'll often see someone voiced in Learning Coalition chat, not talking or anything, but rather waiting and hoping for some of the guys to voice up and screw around. Usually you'll be notified by someone saying in the chat "LC Radio is live!" (I may be the only one that does that), or you can just randomly check.
