I agree with CCP making remote explosives sticky for it made no senses for then to slide around like a nano hive. But I do not like the fact that you can place remotes on a friendly LAV or your own and just ran a tank to kill it. It's sad that so many people are resorting to this cheap tactic because they only want an easy way to kill a tank.
How remotes should work is that they remain sticky but can not be placed on friendly vehicles. Only sticky to props and terrain and enemy vehicles. This would keep them effective and remove the issue of people spamming them on lavs to ram into tanks for easy kills. It will also hopefully push people to actually trying to use AV instead of using this remote tactic with lavs.

I've never been a fan of jihad jeeps but they are nearly a necessity right now, it's one of the few things that tanks actually have to fear.
Fix AV adding in both EMPs and webifiers and then jihad jeeps could be dealt with. |

It will also hopefully push people to actually trying to use AV instead of using this remote tactic with lavs. Due to the nerfing of most AV weapons (especially the swarm launcher) people are using it as a alternative to destroying tanks. And besides, when they suicide bomb, they are losing their dropsuit, vehicle, and adding another death worsening their k/d. also, them hunting tanks with lavs means that they are only helping their teams. With the outbreak of tanks now, there had to be some way to make tankers thing twice before spawning another tank. Its just a tactic really. It takes a miracle and/or a very skilled AV specialist to even damage a militia tank without a tank, installation, or proto forge gun. So I...that dude just blew me up with his lav in one hit...DAMN IT! |

And Jihad jeeps are indeed very creative, especially considering that there's no alternatives, except maybe for scouts in blind spots.
That's what makes the difference between a good and a great game. A good game can be broken, a great game gets even better when you try to break it. I would not want to lose this kind of creative freedom.
Actually, the really funny part about your post is that you complain about Jihad jeeps as if they were a cheap tactic... In reality, they are a huge investment to the attacker, in contrast to countering your HAV with another HAV. I would say the tactic is about as valid as sniping. |

RE are fine, jihad vehicles add stupidly fun gameplay and shouldn't be a threat to a good tanker because he has the power to destroy the jihad jeep before it gets near him
I don't use jihad jeeps but I do laugh when an enemy or friandly is wiped out by one
The only change I would propose to jihad jeeps, is a message to victims saying

Maybe if conventional AV wasn't completely broken and tank-stomping wasn't so common. Sorry, mach-3 invincible murder-fortress driver. |

The tank should be smart enough to counter the LAV, i've seen a tank rip an LAV to ashes in less than seconds, i think they can do the same now.

Thinking about it...
If a tanker is really afraid of a suicide LAV then he shouldn't be a tanker
'Fool me once, shame on you'
'Fool me twice, shame on me'
Its pretty obvious guys are going to use Jihad jeeps, but he is taking a severe risk and if you can't deal with it then....... shame on you

I think it is a viable tactic. We are immortal kind of makes since that they can be used in this way.

Don't really see a problem with them, they're like the cheap scout shotgunner of the vehicle world, if anything they should allow you to stick remotes to people, then things will get REALLY interesting :)

I jihad jeep regularly. Believe it or not, it does take a smattering of skill. First, you have to get close to the thing. Not as easy as it sounds, especially if the tankers KNOW there's a jihadi on the field. Your driving around in a flimsy plastic car COVERED in explosives (or at least I do), and it only takes usually two good hits to blow your ass into ash. Infantry can blow the RE's with wild fire, and two mean your a goner. Then when your actually within ramming range, you gotta pray it's hardeners are on cooldown, or that he doesn't notice you and pop them. On top of all that, there's the distinct chance that your pathing will screw up and you'll drive over the tank leaving you with your ass facing his gun barrel.
Yes, suicide bombing isn't a particularly glamorous job, but with the current nerfs to AV, it's what I got. Plus, you can pull off some amazingly hilarious kills. I nailed two Maddies with one jeep the other day. Or the time I drove over a Soma, ran into the proxies he was sitting on, which blew my jeep, which blew my RE's, which blew the Soma.
And now for the MATHS!
Theoretically, if one is willing to spend Aurum, one should be able to throw down 24 RE's on a single LAV, this in turn comes out to 36,000 points of damage. If you can squeeze the Republic LP versions onto the LAV at the same time, this number rises to 36 RE's spewing out a hilarious 54,000 damage. Now, I haven't gotten the opportunity to test this out because my skill in splody stuff isn't high enough, but judging from the fact that I can stack 10 RE's on my LAV (Aurum and ISK basic RE's (3 each) and Aurum ADV(4)) I would assume that it's possible. And if it is, well,
