And if they put up patch notes right now something as simple as "Bolt pistol is coming in 1.8" then a week from release they have to pull out due to a bug found do you know the amount of rage and b*tching there would be. All CCP has to do is say: Temporary and subject to CHANGE, content may be cut or changed due to last minute bugs, defects or problems.
They say that literally all of the time........

But hey, they don't have me as their PR or Release manager. If they did, they'd be winning! lol except they usually release notes ahead of time like in EVE, because when people dont know ahead of time in EVE, they end up getting screwed, losing months of focus because they were unprepared, and then they get mad and yell at CCP and etc etc etc. most fo teh mroe successful patches and balacning passes were with MONTHS of open discussion on what is changed where in a public thread for the playerbase Yea and EvE also doesn't have monthly updates and doesn't have to go through Sonys QA process. In general, we try to release patch notes about a week before the release date. Depending on how things go. Re 1.8 patch notes - I'd love to give you more info but there's quite a bit still in the air. A lot of the development teams have gone home for the holidays, but we'll share out more when we can. "We provided you with an unbalanced vehicle patch like you've been asking for for 8 months. Now that we enticed vehicle users to spend money on our game, we have no idea how we are going to balance the cluster fck we created in our never ending strategy of providing the worst game mechanics, based upon the most idiotic playerbase every present in an FPS game, to date. TY for still playing a game we don't care to balance intelligently." That's what i read.
Weather you like it or not, tanks are actually a viable thing to use in this game right now. CCP did a good job in balancing them. They might be a tad bit overpowered right now, but honestly its better to have a feature that's a tad bit overpowered then to have a feature that's overwhelmingly underpowered. The only reason infantry like you or I get angry now is because we have literally zero breathing space now. CCP needs to either up the player count to something like 20v20 or create some sort of infantry only game mode. This way people like myself can actually play the game outside of a sica railgun tank......

they should also release a test server version for this game...... but they don't. Why get rid of all the bugs weeks before its deployed right?
