At the moment? Paris, from Warframe.
It's a bow and arrow, meant for Stealth gameplay. Dunno if you've played Warframe, but it has one of the best stealth systems out there. Enemies will see the bodies of their friends and go on alert. The Paris, however, has a special thing that it does. When it kills someone, it takes their body WITH the arrow, and pins them to a wall. Basically, if you're playing stealth, it allows you to hide the bodies of your victims. >:)

It's a tie.
Either its the alien gun from perfect dark
Or the exploding crossbow rounds from Gears of War. That stress of pulling back the trigger and having to get off your shot before your own head blows off. That in itself made it better than the saw gun.

The LeMat Revolver, from Red Dead Redemption. God, I loved that weapon, I'd use it over the than the Evans repeater, even. Had the best sound of any gun in the game... CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!
Also the AA-12 auto shotgun from Army of Two: The 40th Day. I modded mine with the skin that was green with the flowers on it. I called it Daisy.

Nah you can do it but its a pain in the a$$ and you might have to angle the bow slightly. If you have not done archery before then you'd not have the muscle memory to use a long bow though.

My favorite weapon in video games is the under-barreled grenade launcher and rocket launchers. Noob tube for the gaming intellectuals out there.
Nothing is more satisfying than blowing players up when they play peek-a-boo with cover or camping in hidden positions. The hate mail i have received brings smiles and tears at the same time. I've had players call be a 'cheese-ball' and a player with no gun game. However, I got noob tube and rocket game like nothing else. Play to your strengths is all i got to say.

I know its charm has worn off but I still fondly remember the visceral feel of kratos's chain blades when I first played god of war.
The needler from the original halo is also an old favorite, there is just something so satisfying about turning an elite into a pink porcupine that explodes.
I always thought the gun blades from final fantasy 8 were cool.
Oh and the taser from syphon philter! It was sadisticly fun to taze an enemy till they started smoking and burst into flames!
And lastly the nail gun from the original doom. When I first played it I just dumped nails into zombies to watch the giblets because seeing blood in a game was so new to me, and the zombies couldn't die from the nail gun so it was an endless GiB fest. |

Haha, that game was messed up. Was kinda fun though. I used to turn on infinite ammo and use the disintegrator and just blow up hundreds of cars and turn thousands of people to ashes if I needed a rage relief.
Anyway, to answer the OP, it would have to be the Plasma Beam from Metroid Prime 1. One charged hit instantly disintegrated a space pirate just inches from your visor. Was fun to watch him be completely incinerated from his feet to his head in about 3 seconds.

Since I have played TONS of games over the years, two more would be the MP9K from 007 Nightfire, learned to fire it as a full auto with a special staggered button spamming (actually brought that skill into DUST, lets me fire regular combat rifles as complete autos. Can kill lots of people in about a second and a half to 2 secs.) TimeSplitters 2 was the Plasma Autorifle. The other one would have to be the Photon Cannon, also known as the P-Cannon while using low gravity with the Q-Jet from 007 Agent Under Fire.

Original doom was on windows 95 mate, I think you mean doom 3.
