Any chance that you could add a sharpshooter skill to the sniper rifle? that could add to range so that at full level 5 we could get an extra 15%-25% on our range, or the same skill but to add an adjustable zoom scope but the first idea would fit in with current skills for other weapons.
(Wouldn't be the end of the world if you decided to increase the damage output for sniper rifles either given the easy access to better modules now)
Also could there be an adjustment to the ammo increase skill as at the moment at level 5 you would only get 1 extra bullet because its still on a percentage per clip instead of a bullet per clip per level.
I'm currently level 5 proficiency and have nowhere to put sp to improve my role.
Slightly of topic but could we also see some new vantage points added and the old obelisk towers back, (not for the bug on top with the block in the middle) as they were the best vantage points on most maps. (Also the lack of vantage points is making people resort to red line sniping, and I mean all of the snipers not just the crap ones as there are no options left for the decent players to use) |

Broaden the "scope" of where you are looking sir. Not just in the sniping class, to make yourself more useful. For instance being able to use a closer range weapon or different Drop Suit.
ok then i'll clarify, i'm a dedicated sniper class as that's my favourite style of play, what i do most and what i'm best at, but i can also dropship, tank, a.v, go heavy hmg or forge and assult with combat rifles, i wasn't talking about other roles, incidentally the heavies need help in my opinion (mostly on the offensive, why give the slowest movers a short range innaccurate weapon?)
Also i'm not a sniper troll, i'm mostly asking for better vantage points to help stop people from red line sniping giving the rest of us a bad name, i ask for range due to the fact a modern day sr can hit 1,500 m away but in the distant future i'm looking at players 600m away thinking that they should really be in range, but again an adjustable scope would be as good just less realistic.
i know sharpshooter tightens bullet spread for other weapons but the percentages would be similar to other skills, also i think the hmg could do with this skill, another point here is that if they added this but not a better scope bad snipers will waste alot of their ammo shooting at distant people they don't have the skills to hit, high level snipers will have an advantage but that's the point of skill trees, it will also give counter snipers the ability to hit red berry red line snipers most of the time and that'll mean less thales on pub matches. as for fairness and snipers... how many times do militia scouts get killed by proto heavies? if you come across a red berry guarding a door with his back turned do you wait for them to see you? and the balance.. in a sniper set up i always die outright on a headshot, when a dropship brings a crew up to me, or if it's an assult ship i think you'll already know the outcome, so yes i ask to be able to spec to range for distance is my armour and i ask for vantage points because a view is my best tool, from a height i can tell my my squad where you are, what you are and what you are doing, i can hit you from 500m away...as it SHOULD be...fear me for i am a sniper and i'm always watching, |
