They want online games to have multiple "easy" options to cater to them. Friendly fire is a needed dynamic in DUST... the amount of purposeful kill stealing and running into Bullet fire lanes is proof enough. Stop asking for easy mode... you have public contract's that give you ISK. If you arent in the point of your FPS career where friendly fire is that extra bit of challenge you where looking for... Then your hurting the middle of the road DUST players that are trying to win Factional warfare battles. and a good reason caldari and amarr are full of NPC corps.

Well...before Faction Warfare was essentially identical to random battles, since there was no additional benefit. Play random battles, there is no friendly fire, problem solved. I don't really see what the issue is. You're angry about being teamkilled, so stop playing game modes where teamkilling is allowed. Griefing promotes creativity as it forces you to think out of the box on how to deal with said griefers. Eve Online players have adapted to counter griefers on their own without any help from CCP and they are doing just fine. We Dust bunnies can do the same. If you want, you can fight back you know. Just either shoot them in the head or grief them back by wearing a cheap throw-away suit and jump in front of their line of fire so they can suffer the penalty. It's that simple. The laws of the jungle (or lack of it) are a two-way door. Whatever is someone can do to you, you can do it to them in return. It's called payback. OK, CCP. When are knives finally going to be improved?

I have never had friendly fire be a problem for me, even with orbitals I've only team killed about 4 times. I have heard it can be a bit of a problem for re users though.
