The shotgun is an awesome weapon and by far my most favorite in the game. Just run up on someone and then BOOM straight to the face  |

I know and that's why I love it even more. I have them at proto level with prof 3 and if I get with in 5 metres of them they are dead with one shot. Having a proto suit won't help against a shotgun head shot that close  |

Was playing ambush 1 vs 1 versus an advanced Gallente assault got him twice and so did he. Another medium joined his side. Ambush final was 4 kills to them 6 to me.
240k payout and a cost of $40k to me :).
Shotguns are fun and makes my adrenaline pump.
Moved across to them about a week ago when I realized most of my kills are within 15m already.
Turrent - the sound a tankers pants makes when he finds out the four swarm militia doing squats around him aren't AFK.

There are situations where Shotguns aren't the most practical weapon in the world.
There are situations where anything but a Shotgun would get you killed.
Learn your advantages well, and play to them. Shotguns are awesome.
Also, don't be afraid to go down in a blaze of glory if it will further your cause - there have been times where my Shotgun Scout has rushed at an enemy team's flank and opened fire at 20m in spite of the stupidity, and I've turned the tide of battle because of it.
You know what scares a group of enemy infantry more than the sound of a Shotgun coming from a little behind and to the side?
NOTHING.
It's great when you can get literally half the enemy team to fire at a single Scout suit before realising they all turned their backs on our front line. |

shotguns are amazing but you gotta use a scanner to avoid groups of red dots if you dont wanna die alot, but they also r@pe in PC because of the intense CQC w/ no care about suits. That is, if you're lucky enough not to get the HORRIBLE FKING LAG.
Also, whereas your shotgun rapes and gets r@ped by all tiers of suits equally, other weapons dominate lower tiers, in other words, SGs kill starter fits relatively difficult, but kill protos relatively easy. Its all the same to the SG, but other weapons will dominate those lower tiered guys that the SG has trouble w/ sometimes.
As such, if you wanna go hunt protos grab your shotty & a scanner(REs too i guess) but if you're up against MLT peeps, grab your AR and melt them instead of dealing w/ the SGs drawbacks. |

gallente starter medic is the same as the fronline execpt for a stick and smg.. and I use the toxin smg for both anyway. So I slapped a dren shotgun on it and its a mean free suit. Especially when paired with a bpo lav. I'll soften people up hop out and finish them off with the shotgun.
Assault dropship gets blown up....
