Hello guys.
Its been some time since I've played Dust514. Being busy with school and teaching and all, plus pokemon, I havent had the time to play. Ive been waiting for the new guns to come out to play again (and see what its like fighting against them). I use the CRW04 scrambler rifle primarily, but when I picked up the controller to play it felt very different from what I remember. Does anyone else feel that the shooting mechanics feel much more different? Or was the Scrambler rifle nerfed? I just cannot get any kills with it like i used to. I usually do 20-30 kills 5 deaths most games, but today I was struggling to get just 5. I do not think it is me because I played for an hour 2 weekends ago and I did fine. Also, I have aim assist on, but I do not feel it at all. I looked in the updates and as far as weapon changes go, it says that they added ads sensitivity, but i do not think that should be the primary reason. can someone explain this to me? |

They toned down aim assist, don't let it bother you a couple pub matches will fix you right up.

Ah, this explains why everyone is gravitating back to the high-RoF weapons...
Makes sense now!

CCP toned down aim assist so now you actually have to aim.

I also noticed that they changed the operations skill. I also read that somewhere that they increased the hipfire spread? were there any other changes to the weapon since 1.5? |

I don't think so I've been playing with the scrambler rifle came out so any changes made are quickly adapted to in a day or two

Not sure about the hip fire spread change tbh, but they did increase it's range. Just extend the distance between yourself and your target a little and you'll notice the damage hits a little harder. Continue to play as normally as you usually would and as previously mentioned, you'll find your aim again.

DO NOT ENGAGE CRs AT CLOSE RANGE.
Skilled CR users can put out damn near 1000 dps, you can not come close to matching that, so stay back, dance and wait for their reload.
To OP:
I too have notice a decent fall-off in the efficiency of the scrambler since the implementation of 1.7. Even at range I have been noticing what seems to be a decrease in effectiveness. Of course this is nothing next to the laser right now, but still worrisome.
You think you are badass... try solo'ing in amarr FW.

Like that guy said, don't engage CR users close up
for the RR stay in your optimal (under 78m if i'm not mistaken) and fly in and out of cover, take advantage the fact that they have enough time between aim readjusts (when they lose sight of you as you're in cover) and the Rail Rifle's Charge time of 0.25 seconds to land a volley of shots into their center of mass. Put on less armor so you can strafe in and out of cover a bit faster.
ScR is all about Alpha damage potential, you do not want to have prolonged engagements, unlike the Rail Rifle where you want to continuously be firing at your target until they are dead. Use cover and let loose a charge shot + volley of 2 to 3 follow up shots and make sure they all count. If you miss, you die.
This is also why the ScR is the ultimate 1v1 weapon; if you're smart about cover and positioning they'll be dead before they knew what hit em.
Hope that helps

I think I just need to get used to fighting them since they are new.

Also, depending on how long you've been away, they buffed armor modules to give more HP. You could be shooting through more armor than you are used to. More people have been wearing more armor in general because it reduces speed less too. |

Ive been gone since 1.5. It could also be the players Im playing with. Playing with Amarr FW and my team gets creamed every time. Its like they dont know what to do. and I have to go in solo to save the team. |

Skilled ScR users can put out a LOT more than 1000 DPS. Dat ScR spam can put out some INSANE damage. Especially when you do almost 100 damage a shot.
I still think that the ScR needs a hipfire nerf, but that's just cause I have a thing against Long range weapons having excellent CQC capabilities.
Rail Rifle needs a hipfire nerf too.

all I can say is WHAAAATTTTT when did we go back to the 90's and who even plays this anymore. I thought those dark and awful days were over. I for one could not stand it, I wanted to kick Nash in the nuts and throw Pikahoweveryouspellthisshit into a lake and watch it drown. It made no since why a kid was running around, unsupervised, and were the F*** did he get money to pay for his adventures life style? Did he sell his unwanted pets into slavery? This game like Anime sometimes makes no since, and at the same time it does

Don't play FW alone, a lot of small changes here and there have been made since 1.5 so pubs are your learning grounds till you get your skill back up. Me personally when I take a brake it takes 3 days of solid ass beatings to get a decent score.

Only if you use a modded controller. I went here to test how fast I can click a mouse and it is around about 6.5 times a second. That is enough to achieve about 980 DPS with a CR, while only getting about 670 DPS from a SCR.
So I guess if I want the SCR to be anywhere near competitive with the CR I have to basically cheat?

The timing is off. I know my gun. I can shoot someone and turn to the next enemy already in my head, because I know the gun's timing. But shots aren't registering like they used to, so the timing off. It does seem like its doing less damage, but I think it's lag. Because you shoot, shoot, shoot, and then it seems the damage you give just stops. |
