If that's the case, then buff the HMG to AR range and give the FG its blast radius back.
I tried to put a level into Amarr Commando once, but got a server notification saying "Why?"

I'd have no Issue with a HMG shooting 60m, nor the fg splash

Ironically now that the HMG is better ( i wounldnt say fixed just because we can nevr be too sure about balance) i have seen a lot more heavy suits running around with rail rifles or combat rifles.

I run a Scrambler/SMG on my Templar free fit. Those fatties may just be trying to win their FW match without spending a single ISK.

As for the whole Heavy problem your having, have you ever thought about jumping over them and shooting them in the head? Not that I disagree with your point, but why then can't my med/light suit carry an HMG? Why can't I be fast and carry a forge?
Because Heavies sacrifice versatility in equipment potential, and even base slots, for massive HP and the ability to carry fuckhueg gunz.

I always find them, either have to risk a nice sniper suit in the open to get em, A dropship and quick kill suit or an OB.
Found one sentinel in the redline once this was his set up: Sentinel suit, Thales, redline, triage hives, ammo hives and a dedicated logi....yes a logi was sat behind him repping. OB took care of that one.
