There are up to 4,000 people playing Dust 514 at any given time, but I'm curious... How many people actually play Dust 514? Not just at the same time, but how many active players are there? Not everyone can play Dust 514 every day, and certainly not all day, so it's impossible to tell by the online player count alone. Does anyone have any actual numbers on this?
What's the difference between an immobile Minmatar ship and a pile of garbage?
The pile of garbage looks nicer.

around 50-60k active playets

Well look at it this way. This game is not doing good when ARMA 2 is kicking its ass, and ARMA 3 has been out. And It's a WAR SIM. PS 2 is always peaking at around 5k. dust struggles to hit 4k. Tho amazingly DOTA2 HAS come out 1st with most players! REALLY?! GRRR...

A site with numbers that may or may not be accurate:
Eve/Dust Player Numbers
The red graphs, under the blue ones. Anything past the 1st 3 red graphs seems to be way off. According to the 1st 3 red graphs numbers have been dropping. Active player count was just under 800 at any one time last month steadily, now it's reading around 500.
When asked why there was only 1 set of footprints Jesus replied "The Sand People ride single file to hide their numbers"

Lets assume the average # of players playing are 3000 at any giving time, and ignoring the downtime so a continuous stream of 3000 players. Lets also assume the average player plays for 2 hours a day, that's 12 player switches for every 1 spot, thus 12 x 3000 = 36,000 unique players online everyday. This assumes a lot and could be a lot higher or a lot lower. I estimate the maximum at 60,000 and the minimum at 25,000. |

You have a lot to answer for.
