Hello mercs, Xer Cloud Consortium is working alongside Sgt Kirk to hinder Caldari forces in faction warfare battles. Sgt Kirk has devised a rough payment model for subversive actions against the Caldari in matches against the Gallente Federation (see quoted text below). Xer Cloud Consortium is assisting this endeavor by organizing a suicide squad initiative, wherein a full team of mercs purposefully kills themselves continuously via the Neocom tab or other inventive means. The actions of this team means there is a useless squad of merc driving down the overall clone counter, further assisting the Gallente in securing a faction warfare win.
To assist the process of organizing suicide squads we have created an open chat channel.

Simply, why not? I like to encourage people to flex their creative muscles in how they engage with or find enjoyment from this game. If you want to bring out the sandbox nature of this Dust 514, it takes playing around with mechanics such as these to enhance that facet. Plus, we make money out of the whole ordeal because an interested party has the same vision to break this game from a common FPS mold of 'go here and shoot this guy.'

I want organized and drilled Martyr squads, not just random griefing. I want the Matari to lose from clone losses in no more than 3 minutes. I want them to just back out of the battle the moment they see us on their team, because they know they won't even cap all the points before they lose.

I like this, not only because it's utilizing the sandbox nature of the Dust/New Eden world, but also due to a sense of irony from a lore perspective. In The Empyrean Age, Tibus Heth (rising dictator of the Caldari state) and the Broker plot to have Caldari mercenaries undergo a genetic alteration so they appear as Gallenteans in order to serve as the shock ground forces during the initial invasion of Caldari Prime. /nerd

Not really, similar to how the internet lets people let our their true selves of sorts due to a lack of punishment and anonymity, how people approach an open ended game like this speaks of their own moral system.
Like this guy for example
I"m sure in real life he doesn't do this but this is most likely because of punishments more so than moral character.
An example of this would be flash mobs, where many kids wouldn't steal on their own due the idea of increased risk but throw in flash mobs and they are more willing to partake in theft and destruction of property. Meaning it wasn't the immorality of taking or damaging somebody's possessions that held them back previously but the idea of getting caught, and with flash mobs they opt for it due to the anonymity.
The way you treat other people behind screens says a bit about your actual moral system. It's not a direct 1:1, but operative is correct in his assessment unless you actually open up the same way in your dealings with other people out of anonymity. Otherwise you are saving your worst traits only when you are safe from any consequences.
New Eden provides this opportunity for players to unleash their sociopathic tendencies, so you aren't breaking anything and are in fact quite in line with the game.
As a contrast, I on the other hand can't even AFK in a pub stomp match without feeling extremely guilty, to where I can't even do it, let alone some of the other more harmful meta games one can make. So any negative response you get on this would mainly be from those who are themselves personally limited by their own morality.

No.
It is "easy mode" due to more cohesion on the part of the Gallente, and a much larger pool of players wishing to side with them. The Caldari suffer from little cohesion, too much lone-wolfing, and general garbage suit fittings.
Having spent each day playing for the Caldari, they were losing right out of the gate, before anybody even began organizing ways to hinder the opposing faction.
But please, do waste your time "hindering" the Caldari. They don't need your help in losing. They are doing a fine enough job at losing as it is. |

6 mercs commiting suicide using Flux Drop Uplinks to increase their spawn speed will empty the Clone Reserves really fast. Just 2 mercs will cause a guaranteed loss.

I think the deeper point is that Suicide Squads can be free agents meddling around with all four factions, not just Caldari. If there is an economic or personal interest in messing up someone's game, the suicide button in the Neocom certainly helps facilitate that. Even if CCP goes in the direction of having suicides count against a player, (which I don't see them doing for obvious reasons with collision mapping bugs) players will find inventive ways to kill themselves without having it count against them.

I find it astounding however, that a squad would even consider trying to join caldari FW to hinder them in this way, considering their teams are usually awash with corpless random newberries... of course, you are free to hate whichever faction you choose - but I think if anything suiciding or not, that faction isn't doing really well under any conditions... |

Likely individuals want to grind matches faster. With a six merc squad suiciding a full steam, a match is over in mere minutes. I 'imagine' use it for q-syncing.
