If you want to bring out the sandbox nature of this Dust 514, it takes playing around with mechanics such as these to enhance that facet. Plus, we make money out of the whole ordeal because an interested party has the same vision to break this game from a common FPS mold of 'go here and shoot this guy.' I want them to just back out of the battle the moment they see us on their team, because they know they won't even cap all the points before they lose. In The Empyrean Age, Tibus Heth (rising dictator of the Caldari state) and the Broker plot to have Caldari mercenaries undergo a genetic alteration so they appear as Gallenteans in order to serve as the shock ground forces during the initial invasion of Caldari Prime. /nerd +1

Not really, similar to how the internet lets people let our their true selves of sorts due to a lack of punishment and anonymity, how people approach an open ended game like this speaks of their own moral system. Like this guy for example I"m sure in real life he doesn't do this but this is most likely because of punishments more so than moral character. An example of this would be flash mobs, where many kids wouldn't steal on their own due the idea of increased risk but throw in flash mobs and they are more willing to partake in theft and destruction of property. Meaning it wasn't the immorality of taking or damaging somebody's possessions that held them back previously but the idea of getting caught, and with flash mobs they opt for it due to the anonymity. The way you treat other people behind screens says a bit about your actual moral system. It's not a direct 1:1, but operative is correct in his assessment unless you actually open up the same way in your dealings with other people out of anonymity. Otherwise you are saving your worst traits only when you are safe from any consequences. New Eden provides this opportunity for players to unleash their sociopathic tendencies, so you aren't breaking anything and are in fact quite in line with the game. As a contrast, I on the other hand can't even AFK in a pub stomp match without feeling extremely guilty, to where I can't even do it, let alone some of the other more harmful meta games one can make. So any negative response you get on this would mainly be from those who are themselves personally limited by their own morality. Below 28 dB
