I been asleep since Uprising launched ... waiting for AV to become fun and challenging again.
Not even played a battle since 1.7 ... it looks like a joke ... I can't even be bothered logging in for the daily bonus anymore ... I'll keep an eye on the forums for news of changes, but until we get back to E3 levels of balance I'm not interested. (by the way E3 WAS balanced, but not enough AR scrubs would invest in swarms, those of us that did actually had fun hunting and pressuring HAVs into retreat or destruction) |

As things stand right now, vehicles have a down time in which AV can take them out in 2-3 shots. However, this window is completely negated by the use of nitrous injectors. I see no reason why you should ever die if you are you are using a nitrous injector. You become literally too fast to catch and can't be caught by any other tank.
Of course as we know it is the gallente vehicles fitting these injectors due to their slot layout. This allows them to bet better at hit and run tactics than caldari vehicles. Why is this?
Wouldn't it be balanced if we had nanofibres and torque mods for caldari vehcles in order to counter this?
So about those vehicle locks...

I basically only die to shenanigans like RDVs and MCC missiles now. There is no place for AV in this game anymore when free tanks do it better for far cheaper and with no SP investment required.

1: There's a simple solution to that, but it requires a LAV for it to work. It's called stalk down your prey, ambush it ahead of it's path, and pop it.
2:Caldari vehicles aren't made to hit and run in the first place. Rather sit back and back up. Winmatar vehicles would be as you described.
3: Would be pointless, but sure, why not? |

Being an AV'er i decided to test out how the other half lives and ran my tanker alt last night. i was just running a soma(? gallente militia) with average fit. yes teh char has 9.5mil in vehicles but i had only been in a DS before and i think in 10 matches i only lost 2-3 tanks. anytime anyone hit me i just hit hardener and nitro, shot around buildings/complex till my infantry shot the av and went back to blasting things. it was quite surprising how the survivability of HAVs has gone up in 1.7. I don't think its down to HAVs being buffed too much but purely down to AV changes. the only thing that is a risk to HAVs now are 'LAV bombs' and prox mines.
a small tweak to swarms and maybe keep forge damage as is but give the old recharge times back. and things should stay quite balanced. as for swarms again, maybe slight increase in damage to 250 a missile and bring lock range back upto around 225m
It's only after we have lost everything, are we free to do anything.... Unless CCP take away your BPOs

CCP should do less poking.
CCP dictionary - Poking: Having a cool idea and sharing it with the community and not actually confirming it with the CCP DUST514 teams first so many empty promises can be made without following them up later on.
Poking is also not necessary if your communication is on point because all your teams should be informed.
A good message should have read:

message from Godin: I've killed around 80 HAV's with my swarms. All it needs is a projectile speed increase. As for Forges, not sure yet, haven't used them yet. |

Yes, things have changed. Yes, vehicles have become stronger because of it. Pilots had to adjust a little to get used to it, but it was overall good.
AV got nerfed, and what does the Av'ers do? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. They refuse to adapt, and when **** doesn't work, they QQ (just like you are doing). Yet, I've adapted to the changes of the swarms, and is loving it. If I mess up, the vehicle escapes. If I don't, it dies. And it is fun throughout the experience. With these proposed changes, it'll be even better. |

This exactly. All the proof you need to know if something is way off balance is to look across the battlefield and see what the noobs are spamming. Tankers can argue, "But it's because, because, because," but until it stops raining tanks and they stop circling people in buildings like sharks, it's broken.
And given that I'm seeing so many "I quit" threads since 1.7, I'm sure that CCP is losing a fair amount of players. Not all of them will quit, but likely enough to make a difference if it's not fixed soon. You tankers may have the game all to yourselves soon. I guess that's what you want. |

The problem with tanks is militia. With absolutely no skill investment and only around 80k, you can be driving around a nearly invincible vehicle. I see people going 20-2 in tanks. These people probably have 3 million sp tops. Militia should never be that strong. |
