I don't think that's going to happen.
CCP wants a smooth entry path to vehicle piloting and that means a MLT version. |

That being said, CCP should probably increase the price of them (assuming tank spam is a lasting trend rather than people playing with the shiny new stuff)
People are trying them out because they are cheap and not death traps. Usage will drop off as those who don't enjoy it leave. |

They ARE less powerful. The active to cool down ratio is minuscule until you drop quite a few SP into it.
Now they are equally defensible during at active time which gives a new player a chance to get a feel for how they work rather than getting insta-popped and that's a good thing. |

MLT is just as powerful as STD, just with higher fitting costs. In the case of vehicle modules they also have longer cool down times. |

Did you know that a MLT shield hardener is active for 24 seconds and has a 100 second cool down?
That's 24 seconds to engage, fight, and disengage, followed by 1:40 of hiding.
Dump one metric ton of SP and a PRO module with 10x worth of support skills to enhance it gives you 30/45 seconds. The STD tank has an additional slot so you can add a second to get 60/15.
That is a very significant difference in power between a zero SP MLT fit and a fit with several million SP invested. |

In the case of vehicle modules they also have longer cool down times. Maybe it's time to consider a slight HP fix: MLT/STD/ADV/PRO have slighlty different HP levels(for all suits and vehicles). The higher the level, a small % boost to Armor/Shields. This would help TTK a bit, distinguish the justification for running proto other than having the most slots, and allow militia items to stay in the market as cheap gear. Maybe....that's my .02 ISK....regardless if this is the worst idea of all time lol
You are talking about infantry dropsuits now, as there are no ADV or PRO vehicles. |
