I have been thinking about these for some time but i have been pretty hesitant about making a thread for it because Squads are already very powerful just by having groups of people you know, but for the 90% of you who are obviously to all things EVE in EVE there are Leadership skills and in the simplest way to explain it goes off the squad leaders skill he trained into leadership and gives boosts to squad leaders
So lets say something like this: Armor Warfare: 1-2% bonus to squad mates total Armor per level Siege Warfare: 1-2% bonus to squad mates total Shield per level Skirmish warfare: 1-2% bonus to squad mates total sprint speed per level Information warfare: 1-2% bonus to use of electronic modules per level.
I'm not sure if these should be for all squad members in game or if it should only effect people within a certain area of the squad leader, 50 meters for example.
Those are just some examples the numbers are low for boosts as i said before squads by themselves are already so good but i feel thing like this would give players more of an encouragement ot run in squads and join corporations.
Then maybe limit the max squad members by adding leadership skill Squad leader: 1 member in your squad per level Platoon leader: 1 squad under your control per level(For when team deployment gets released im not supporting team deployment as it might be just to much in public and FW matches but if it does come out.)
Thoughts? would you be interested in something like this to be added to dust 514. i personally think it is currently on the minds of the Dust 514 dev and will be coming into play during the next year.

there was something like this a while ago, I think it was called the commander suit or something? Basically it was going to be a heavy that provided bonuses to team-mates nearby, possibly with specialized modules. It has since disappeared into the aether, but it would be nice to see some stuff like that to actually influence group makeups more than "logi, fighter, scout?"
If you hear the words "WORTH IT!" look about, something hilarious just happened.

I was also thinking of something like this but i believe they would need to release skills first to lay down the ground work.

Yep, this isn't a new idea. I think it might make sense to make a command vehicle that does this. Have it be slow, expensive, weak DPS (Maybe light turrets only) and have a gigantic tank. I think it would be cool if these took the form of walkers. They would fit warfare link modules that had these types of effects on players within x radius (maybe 100m?). I think these would be pretty amazingly cool to add, but honestly there are so many other areas that are more important, that I wouldn't even want CCP to work on these for a couple of years, with all of the other higher priority stuff still to get done.

I know CCP talked about this stuff long ago, but to behost PVE was also confirmed .
Do you have a link to any specific details or is it just a "Yeah we are doing this" type of statement from CCP?

Maybe the role for medium vehicles? have the skill bonuses be something worth protecting, like percentage damage resists to infantry within a certain area, maybe logistic modules like creating a shield bubble to absorb some amount of damage with x meters of the vehicle(say to bunker down during an OB with a proto module with maxed out skills) or some armor reps(maybe passive/active? like they provide low level(10/s) when not active, but cna be activated to run for 70 a second for some amount of time, but during cooldown, it provides no reps).
for that, I'd say to keep the logistics in the modules, but give the medium vehicles a bonus towards fitting them and make some of them prohibitively expensive for other craft(see: covert ops cloaks in EVE) Keep specific remote repping available for vehicles, but keep the AoE repairs for the logistics vehicle.
I'm big on modality and tweaking of fits for different situations.

I'd max that skill out in a heart beat. another sp sink but it would only be worth it to a few. Those who regularly squad lead especially in pc.

This is a great idea! EVE On Line allready has them and it would give more incentive to people to join a squad when squad leader has bonuses, this would also encourage people to lead squads, thus gaining an edge in battle.
