So I'm thinking of playing dedicated AV for a bit (Practicing for the hotfix/patch where they add in vehicle damaging WP SoonTM), and I'm wondering: What is the best AV fit?

I hear a lot of good things about the Minmatar Assault, and I'll probably skill into that at some point, but with the recent nerf to shields, I want to make sure before I end up getting one of the more UP medium suits out there. Currently I run Amarr Commando with a RS-90 Combat Rifle + ADV Swarm Launcher (CBR7?), thinking of switching over to Caldari Assault.

Can anyone name the best suit for the job, maybe a list of pros/cons, and a low-SP fitting? A big order, I know, but if you're gonna do it, do it right, I guess. :P

This may not be the best fit but I run it as mine.

 Logistics A/1-series:
 2 Complex light damage mods
 1 basic shield extender

 CBR7 Swarms
 M209 SMG

 EX-11 packed AV grenades

 K-2 Nanohive
 Compact Nanohive
 A-45 Quantum Active scanner

 3 basic armor plates

I very rarely find tanks I cannot destroy with it and because it's a Amarr logi I can carry equipment with a sidearm though without fitting skills you might have issues fitting the damage mods with the equipment.

Best AV fit during the current game is no doubt the ADV Basic Heavy. 2x complex mods and a DAU/2 coupled with some AV nades will still wreck tanks and other vehicles.

I've popped a ton of them already but I've got prof V :P . Seriously though, it is the best fit for AV work, dealing with infantry is a bit harder but you can't have it all.

 AV?
Get a Militia or a BPO LAV, strap about 6 RE on it, switch to a starter suit and drive straight into a tank.
 BAM! Done!

My AV fit involves putting a Proto Swarm Launcher, Remote Explosives, and Flux grenades on a Dragonfly Scout suit. However, this requires perfect fitting skills. It is much easier to fit that stuff on an Assault suit. You can achieve something similar using a Minatar Assault suit with a proto dampener or Kinetic Catalyzer.

The Amarr Logi and Commando suits certainly have good potential, although they are slower. Both solid options, but would use different tactics than the fast suits.

I'd like to use REs, but I'm worried about not being able to resupply while I'm firing. I'm going to unload 6 volleys into a tank, and then not be able to resupply. :P

Also, it's confirmed, I must use G/1-Assault. C-1 Assault doesn't have enough high slots, and if I put a sidearm damage mod in there, I give up my main tank. :P

Also, I'll probably be skilling into Minmatar Assault after I gets my proto CBRs. Or at least the Assault variant.

My AV fit has just turned into a gunnlogi with a State missile launcher on it.

I do run a demolitions logi sometimes though. An amarr logi with RE's, prox mines, and hives.

With the clip size skill at 3 I have 9 rounds in my Swarm Launcher. I have only once ran out of ammo and not been able to quickly get to a Nano Hive or Supply Depot. But then it is easier to go looking for ammo when you run as fast as a scout.

Maybe I should work towards Ammo Capacity then... Man, playing AV needs a lot of SP. :P

I have been running a light frame G/1 with plasma cannon, RE's and packed AV nades. If I can manage to get close to the tank without it spotting me it has been working very well. Stick the RE's to it plasma cannon it then AV nade it. As it drives off detonate your RE's. Its just catching them while they are stopped that is the trick but I have had some luck jumping from buildings and landing behind it.

Also a warning though this is effective but doing it in FW counts as FF when you detonate your remotes.

And this I why some of us were so perturbed about the recent SwL nerf - combined with the speed increases on vehicles, our weakened missiles, shorter lock distance and already slow lock time seriously change the game for a (non-Proto) AVer when vehicles can outrun/fly missiles. I had been running a CBR7 with 1 Enh LDM on a Min Assault suit with a Compact Nanohive, but now I have to reload to take out (stationary) LAVs and missile turrents. I just spec'd into explosives, so I'll soon see how swapping the Nano for REs works out.

Right now, I'd have to think the Amarr Adv Logi would be the ideal AV suit. Fit the highs with an LDM and some Shields, the lows with a Reactive Shield, green juice and red juice, with Nano, REs and Proxys in the equip slots and you've got a pretty decent all-rounder.

In all cases, I'd highly recommend training up your ammo capacity.
