Weaker than swarms and swarms are laughable against tanks unless they come in 2-3 sizes. |

ive only just started using it and have the advanced one too, i found it pretty useless for AV as by the time you reload the tank is the other side of the map.

PC kinda sucks for AV, the damage is good against shield tanks but it travels so slow. Even as a tanker myself I think the plasma cannon should get a faster flight speed and less drop, that would make it more viable against vehicles though people might abuse it against suits, I dunno. |

lets be honest PC as an av option is silly. To use it reliably, you either need to get WAY too close or be able to see the future

You can use it to scare the **** out of HAVs. If you couple it with R/Es, big balls, and mad dodging skills, you can pop HAVs. I was doing it in a Scout suit. Tricked the HAVs into either A) backing into a corner or B) backing against an object. The moment the hardeners go down, it's ******. Throw the R/Es on it while the hardeners are up, let the pilot get comfortable. Juke him until the hardeners drop. Plasma Cannon down the shields. R/E detonations. It's so good.
Bonus points if you can Plasma Cannon it AND R/E it from atop a tower. (Really, I'd pay to see someone successfully do this up there.)

If you can aim it then use it vs shield tanks. Don't be like most people right now and use a swarms vs shield vehicles since they do about 50% less damage vs shields than vs armor

I can attest to the fact that it does amazing knock back damage against Dropships...in special contexts.
I qualify this to an experience today on a domination research facility socket tower. A dropship attempted to pull a Doc Brown Delorean hover and slip up along to the tower without us noticing. I directed a plasma ball on the bow of the dropship which had enough force to dip the nose at a sheer 80 degrees. With that angle and already low elevation the ship simply made hard contact with the ground. My second shot connected with the ejected pilot. Insta-kill!
Damn, I love this weapon!

It's not a terrible weapon when paired with REs. If you are sneaky enough and get the REs planted fire the PlC and then blow the remotes.
Usually the PlC will do enough shield damage to allow the remotes to kill...Sadly if it didn't you are never going to get a second shot.
The PlC is still just a really big, really terrible long range shotgun that occasionally has a role in AV. |

Scout with plc, remotes and av nades is very viable anti tank fit really. The hard part is to get close of course but you gotta be sneaky.

Flux & weakspot shot can be pretty effective.
1.7 tanks really need to be dealt as much damage in as short a time as possible. To that end, a PlaC shot that softens a target you've already planted REs on, can be a nice boost to that alpha.
But generally the damn thing still needs a buff.
Alternatively it could be kept the same, only shrunk, and turned into a sidarm. Think about how useful that would be.

The projectile is too slow
The arc is stupid (especially for an AV wepon)
The damage is way to low for single shot weapon that takes 4 -4.5 secs between shots on proto
The operation skill bonus is stupid (Really 5% chargetime bonus on a0.6 sec charge?)
The reload duration is too high
At a whole the PLC makes no sense as (AV) weapon. |

I wouldn't expect to kill a tank but it works well to scare it away temporarily or destroy the shields for someone else to finish it off. |

You could simply use a flux or AV nades for the same effect without loosing you light weapon slot... |

It has it's uses, hard to solo a tank but in concert with other AV it can hurt.
I love it for AP as well. On that map with the 6 towers I killed someone on a tower from the ground last night. 154m almost straight up. Once you get the reload speed up you can spit out a lot of plasma.
