the fun part: tank is cheaper, I doubt that CCP has tested anything in this patch. Your tank has 20k EHP for how long at a time? And with how large a cooldown before you can do it again?
Part of the balance for tanks is the fact that they can only maintain their durability in short bursts.
Obviously, that doesn't negate the point that your tank is that powerful at its peak AND costs less than a Prototype Dropsuit. I can see a lot of potential for the new vehicle mechanics, but they've balanced Standard vehicles against Prototype AV. Pricing and other things WILL be off until they address that. |

I can easily unleash hell upon everyone on sight for ~25 seconds and then get out with my high speed. note I am NOT using the bugged mlt nitro, speed is huge even without the bug. a proto suit dies in 0.5 seconds to everything and costs more... it does not matter that I can only do it in "bursts" cause I can do it over and over and when I do not overextend with my tank I will rarely lose it. the risk vs reward is out of proportion here. Just to be clear, in spite of our past disagreements, I'm actually agreeing with you on the imbalance. There is still work to be done on vehicles. Speed is potentially an issue, but I think while there is the problem of the crazy warp drive module, it's pre-emptive for anyone - even those tankers who run without it - to say how much of a nerf is needed on top of fixing that particular bug.
All I'm saying is that the 20k EHP figure is misleading. Not severely so, but it doesn't give the whole picture. Also, yeah, you CAN run away pretty easily, but sometimes, you run from one threat into another, and at that point, you need to consider the vulnerability of your tank while your modules are on cooldown. |
