after playing a lot of FW today this is what needs to be done about those damn tanks.
1. fix that damn speed glitch. It is annoying when you are about to kill a soma or madruger with your AV and it zooms away at mach 3.
2. railguns do way too much damage and shoot too fast. i understand the need for anti tank tanks, but doing over 2000 a shot right now is pretty extreme. especially if you are a gunloggi.
3. Make them more expensive. why the hell does my proto suit cost 20k less than my tank? if most tanks cost around 500k just for the tank itself im sure all these new people would be hesitant about calling 8 tanks per game.
4. make the militia tanks actually militia. give them less slots so we don't have 5000 armor somas and near immortal sicas running around.
I am pretty sure this would fix a lot of issues we are running into.
however, i do not expect CCP do more than 2 things on this list.
Everything I say or do has the utmost importance.

I find it ludicrous that some tanks cost less than a dropsuit.
I already have 30 Madrugars and I'm turning a ridiculously big profit on them.

same here. i use the state gunloggi so i am spending 40k and some LP per tank.

About damn time they reduced the cost on tanks, before 1.7 you paid 1.4 m isk for a tank that did less damage than 200k dropsuits. Another thing you seem to be forgetting, your comparing a proto suit to a standard tank. Put as many proto mods on your standard suit as you can, compare that to your proto suit, and see what the difference is. My most expesive tank right now is 560k, what's your most expensive suit? |

I think you are forgetting it is a damn tank. Unless every protosuit you encounter is rocking AV gear you can pretty much have your way with them
by your reason we can say how many proto av suits does it take to destroy your tank. im pretty sure those suits combined would cost well over 560k.

Sica has 2 high and 2 low slots. Gunnlogi has 3 high and 2 low slots.
Sica has less PG and CPU as well. Pretty sure it's a Milita tank. Dropsuits mostly lose one slot and some PG/CPU when going to Militia from Standard. Sounds like the same treatment here. |

I was going to semi-complain about tanks many threads over but just didn't bother.
This thread made me realize something however; I've got hundreds of millions of isks and tanks are cheaper than proto suits when it comes to survivability.
If I want to stop these tanks I guess I should start spamming tanks myself. |

No problem make them as easy to destroy like a dropsuit and no one will complain about those tank numbers. They are simply too hard to bring down for their price and their numbers on the field. Well it seems CCP knows just one way to balance by overdoing.
They make things either ridiculous strong or weak :/ and they like to go with big changes rather than small tweaks |

I am indifferent to the tank situation. Yes there are a whole bunch on the field...because there are a whole bunch of players who downloaded a patch which changed how the tanks roll. So of course majority of folks are trying their hand.
Is it truly a speed glitch happening here? Or is this "working as intended"?

Or, you know, you could try to not solo a tank and use teamwork.

It's about time that railguns again do more damage than forge guns, thus making them better for anti-tank work.

We spent more than half a year with tanks regularly going for over 1 mil ISK. Don't you think it's about time we had a price cut? The limit for vehicles is 7, not 8. And I'd love to be in a match with 7 v 7 tank battles in which AV does not bother, but rather, infantry actually watches it happen (for the first time ever), experiencing tankers fighting it out.

MLT tanks use to have 4 HP tank slots, and 2 auxiliary slots; STD had 5 HP tank slots and 2 auxiliary slots, and Enforcers (lol) had 5 HP tank slots and 3 auxiliary slots. Why do you want to nerf tanks even more? Now, MLT tanks have 2 HP tank slots and 2 auxiliary slots, while STD has 3 HP tank slots and 2 auxiliary slots. What more do you infantry want taken away from us?

No, it won't fix your petty complaints until you succeed in having vehicles removed from the game in their entirety, and the SP not refunded. There aren't any issues, you just simply cannot accept that tanks can't soloed with your MLT Starter Anti-Armor fit. You don't tank, so why are you worried about how they're performing?
however, i do not expect CCP do more than 2 things on this list.
They shouldn't do anything on your list.

I like that tanks are cheap, and I am not a tanker myself. Before 1.7 most tanks you saw would be proto and high skilled tankers that instant killed everything in sight. Now there is allot of variety on the battlefield, tanks are everywhere and tanks are now spending more time fighting other tanks than killing infantry. Only downside is when my team in FW have many tanks deployed and we end up with just 4-5 mercs on foot trying to capture all the letters and ends up loosing. Battlefield has become much more chaotic. And seeing tanks flying in the air is actually funny and not something that bothers me. In FW there is a great risc of hitting your own team mates which kind of keep the tankers under control. I have not yet done any pub matches since 1.7. |

I am a gunloggi tanker, always have been since closed beta. you always act like everyone who wants balance wants to see tanks nerfed.
1. we had 3 guys with swarms and 1 with a forge and we were able to kill most tanks except for the ones using the speed glitch. This is why i think the hp and modules are fine, except the speed ones.
2. I agree that it is about time railguns do more damage than forges but not to the point i can 2-3 shot all tanks.
3. Might be me but if i take out tank i really want that persons' wallet to have a small dent. not just act like a took out a dropsuit of theirs.
I like tanking but not to this point.
