But come on, it should still resemble a Heavy Machine Gun in spirit! Where if you're in front of it while it's firing, regardless of range, then jump for cover because it's going to hurt... Heavies are slow, big, limited in slots, and have no equipment. As such, the gun they're carrying should make up for it in sheer suppressive power. + infinity

If you think it has to do with my own personnal skills in the game then look around and you will see Heavies running with assualt weapons or the OP-scrambler rifles or even worse a heavy with a shotgun. As of late I have had to damage mod my proto HMG just to try and compete with the damage dealt out by other advanced weapons. Awhile back you took away the range of HMG and added red and yellow flames that come out of the barrel when firing at red targets(bad idea). You took away the range and now the blast radius of the forge gun making it half the weapon it used to be for infantry kills but you are soon going to increase the power of tanks? All of this nerfing to the heavie's weapons and new weapons for other roles leads me to believe the heavy is not an important role in the future of this game and you don't mind if HMG's are not used by Heavies with heavy weapon slots. A true sentinel of any objective should be feared as the name sentinel reflects but this is far from true and the options if you stay true to character and run heavy weapons is very shallow. as u can see, tracking the target while firing ADS is almost impossible. you cant see!!!
and even in hip firing its difficult bc the only hit point in our large reticule is the little dot in the center, and that goes off target bc we cant track the enemy through the *flare*
really, really ridiculous that they didnt test this stuff.

I can see that there really is no real reason to consider going back to that MH-82 I used to love so much. I think if the fire is supposed to be Pin Point accurate you should have a crosshair not a circle with a 1px dot for the crosshair if CCP used a + in the center of the circle like a O with an X or + that covers the diameter of the circle it would solve most of the issue, be easier to aim and still allow heavies some range, which is needed being so slow that a turtle can jog backwards faster than them.
