It is unfreakin real how OP tanks are right now. A ******* monkey could be handed a tank and be god mode right now.
AV is ****.
These devs simply can't balance this game.
Remove time in battle from ISK payout formula and provide a bonus to winning team... Watch battles become fun again.

Now currently armor tanks speed up to fast. And on top of that if you throw on a nitro mod they gain insane speed up time.
They need to cut the top speed in half and then lower there over all speed up time and it will fix most problems with armor tanks.
Armor tanks do have a big advantage because of this on infantry they do not really need hardeners because they can get out of town in no time. along with a constant repping of 100+ HP per passive armor repper. That always runs.
I can 2 clip a armor tank with a proto missile turret while running a damage mod. Without 2.5 on a well built one. Missile tank vs blaster tank equals win because it does not do enough damage to stop the shield regen when running a hardener. But if you run into a maddy running rail it is a battle bec ause the damn rail stops the regen on your shield. so it comes down teeth bared.
Missile turrets have to be direct hits or else you have to be hitting right on the toes of infantry to kill them so kind of sucks in that aspect. Along with missile turrets have the damn turn rate of a rail well a little faster but not much.
I feel shield tanks are in a amazing place right now. You got shock factor and can get out of the fight to regen. But if someone is smart and has a advantage on you as you leave the combat zone without hardeners they can pop you very very quick solo.
Forge gunners can still camp roofs so you get 2 proto forges on a roof and your ****** because they can cover the whole map while you can not do **** back to them.
So the major issues currently are: *Armor has insane top speed *Armor also has okay acceleration add in the nitro mod it makes it better acceleration then shield tanks *Shield lack lower mods. Really nothing worth while to use. Makes it boring in that aspect. Would not mind a small percentage decrease in speed and handling if they brought back nano fibers for shield tank that put them little above what we have now. But of coarse other mods need to come out to make it a choice between them.
You are stoned. Even when they don't run you can't touch them.
They are fully repped before you can get your next volley off.
They are better than they've EVER been and they are cheaper than proto suits.

This is insane. There is no way they tested this.

If you can get him to start glowing early, you've got him. Once those hardeners are on cooldown, he's meat unless his team is back him up. Once they fix the bugged nitros, you'll be fine.
That sounds great, when there's four tanks and infantry?
I've been playing a minute, it's just OP. It's OP if they put AV back to yesterday's numbers AND they are dirt cheap.

Bro, keep in mind that vehicles are currently at year zero. This is definitely NOT the new standard. They're going to be doing adjustments based on performance. Keep giving your feedback, keep pointing out what you feel is wrong, and they'll listen. Don't be surprised if AV is buffed to compensate. One thing that really gets to me is... This problem.. Is really OBVIOUS! I mean like.. Does CCP themselves not play the update before hand and say "Wow these armor tanks are way too fast!" Or "Damn Tanks can just eat swarms and av nades all day!" That bothers me...
The first few games today I didn't see many tanks. This evening it changed. I guess they were figuring **** out and getting fit.
I have proto nades, swarms you name it. I fit a suit with dampeners so they couldn't scan me down and they ust eat infantry AV. They aren't even scared of Forges. Even if they were their tank is likely cheaper than a proto dropsuit.
It took 2 matches this evening to see that the balance was HORRIBLY off. I can't ******* believe that they tested this.
I know it's patch day, but this isn't a bug. This is closed beta level God mode tanks, they are cheap, and the AV is a joke.
I'll just call in militia tanks instead using the millions of SP I've spent in AV.

AV could not solo max SP tanks with proper fit in a reasonable time frame pre patch too. math was posted months ago several times that a single guy require 20 to 30 seconds of shooting to do so (depending on amount of damage mods fitted). I doubt it.
There is no chance that a properly fitted dropship will die to swarms. The pilot would have to be trying to die.
