This is my personal review & thoughts on The 1.7 Update
First off, where are The Quafe Suits & etc. we have yet to be rewarded for them.
That aside onto 1.7 - The 2 New Back Grounds are awesome looking especially The Volcano, but The Caldari like structure though awesome needs graphics work just a little, as well as the graphics/rendering in general somewhat.
The female character now has a new walk animation, the old 1 was fine & this 1 is fine to though when she walks now she looks happy.
I like the weapon sensitivity ajustments as well, a much needed touch.
Hit Detections is much harder now, might want to consider fixing it or reverting it to how it was
Tanks.... wtf did you do XD they're IMPOSSIBLE to kill unless you have AV's on you 24/7 or your a proto assault Heavy Forge Gunner. I mean honestly the things are FASTER then a LAV, it's like Tanks are now FREAKING Gran Trismo Cars even without Nitris - Have you SEEN a Tank with Nitris on it thing hits 300 MPH in 3 seconds, 3 SECONDS MAN!
Now on to the things you all really want to hear about....
The Combat Rifle is mostly fine, only slightly twik it & it'll be perfect.
The Rail Gun is awesome but you, me & everyone else knows the thing is OP - it needs nerfed just don't totally ruin it when you nerf it though. Thing has potential....
Faction Warfare
I like that you need EVE Pilots to Orbital, should've always been so. Friendly Fire....fix it, thing is majorly broke you can't tell your Team MOVE if your orbitaling or just trying to kill the guy infront of you unless your Q synced. 3 - 4 FF kills before you are kicked is way too low higher it to 7 atleast.
The idea of banning players from FW is by far the stupidest thing ever in all honesty. 90% of the time ban's will happen due to Team's being orbitaled or getting in the way. 90% of the time it will be good players who aren't trolling. The idea is broke IF i'm trolling & am a serious troll you think a ban will stop me?
No, I will go on a alt just like I did today when I accidentally orbitaled just a few randoms who were mixed in with like 8 enemies & played on it. A troll will go on a alt & just kill people, he can just kill 2 or 3 wait for next match & repeat anyway plus he can have a alternate acc with 3 characters. Banning won't stop it.
It also hurts the EVE & Dust relation - Example I have a EVE Pilot in orbit which took alot on both ends just to get him or her their to be support in the first place. I get enough to use a orbital then I get paranoid if I drop it I'll get banned & thus come to the only logical conclusion - Don't use the orbital, which is a HUGE waste.
Instead change to your just kicked from the match & loose a little standing. And leave it at that.
Now onto Loyalty Points, the idea is wonderful. But they cost to little 50 - 100+ LP for something I was expecting LP to be near as fluent as ISK. Love that the ISK cost of LP stuff is low though Economically it's kinda good. However it kinda defeats the purpose of Factional it doesn't inforce people to side with a certain Faction.
Example, I could run Caldari a little, get what I want & jump back to being full time Gallente. It's kinda defeating the point.
Add SOME ISK with LP in FW, CCP go play FW & you will notice 1 side although has good players is dieing ALOT more then the other side with equally good if not worse players. Why is this? Team A's people has been running alot of FW & is resorting to cheap decent but not as good fits to conserve ISK - Team B just started or is in a BILLION ISK corporation that can spare the ISK & is using proto to win without effort.
This also defeats the purpose of the FW update somewhat therefore some amount of ISK should be added, perhaps lower the amount made by say 7% & If you loose you make less ISK. Example, I could be a crazy hardcore loyalist that goes ALL IN on 1 match costing me the grand total of 1 million or 700K+ ISK winning it for the Team - I will NOT get more LP for my service nor will I get ANY ISK to atleast help with my expenses.
This also breaks the purpose of the FW Update.
People seem to be harder to kill, no idea why....
Also please do fix dropships too, they tap anything or go to land in the lightest of ways they'll freaking explode which is annoying.

What I meant by hit detection, was win a bullet or whatever hits you - it shows with a red arrow where it came from, it's harder now to notice now as it's only a red blur in the direction you were hit & layered over it is the affect of your sheild being hit by attacks.
As for Rail Rifle yes it's OP - Why? My friend bought the lowest level AUR (costs 30 AUR) & with barely any to no modules was able to swiftly kill Proto's, as for those who saved SP for 1.7 & were all proto & so on are expected to kill people with proto Rail Rifle however the Rail Rifle is OP & it will eventually be nerfed just stating the obvious.
Everyone's running it simply because it's OP which is obvious if you go into almost any & all matches....
Hopefully though CCP won't nerf it so bad it becomes as useless as Laser Rifles or Flaylocks the Rail Rifle has potential just needs work. |

I mean work on it see what it's con's are exactly (which aren't many) & work on it making it better.
The CR isn't ridiculous in anyway till Boundless & even then it's because the player has worked on it & made it stronger therefore it doesn't count.
It is a bit fast, I was expecting it to be more close range which it achieved - mid-range I think it should possibly only be 5% under decent.
Minmitar CR - Close Range Domination over all 4 AR's - only "just barely enough to do the job of Mid-Range" - Useless at Long Range
Gallente AR - Mid-Range Domination over all 4 - "just barely enough to do the job of Long Range" - Next to useless at Close Range
Amarr LR - Mid-Range - Long Rangle but about 7% under Long Range - hard to kill or handle in anyway at close range
Caldari RR - Long Range Domination - "just enough to do the job of Mid-Range" - Useless at close Range |
