Hello All,
I'd like to announce that I'm now allowing open beta access to a Dust514 related website, that I've been working on at http://dust.thang.dk The site allows players to log in and register their Characters (or Mercs), skills and fittings, including playing around with theoretical fittings and setting up a skill-queue based on those fittings.
The core of the system is now working, though with the recent release of the Dust SDE, I've started migrating some elements to be able to utilize the released data. Due to this, some sections will show EVE SDE+1.6 data (or the manually entered 1.7) and others will show the released SDE data. To log in, go to http://dust.thang.dk and choose the login-option in the top-right corner. You will need a Google account (GMail, YouTube or G+ will do), as the site does not use its own account mgt system.
Characters To create a Character, after logging in, go the Character tab, and select the option to create a new Character. A page will ask you for some details. The Character name will be checked against the EVE API to verify it, but you can use any name you choose. If no match is found, the system will simply let you progress. A corporation can be selected, but as the EVE API is not allowing access to a complete listing of Corporations (notably those not in alliances are not listed, and Dust Corps cannot trivially join alliances), you are very likely to find that your corporation is missing. Simply select an NPC corp for now. Battle stats are requested, but these are currently not used by the site. If you wish to track your battle stats, I whole-heartedly recommend that you visit the site http://dust514stats.com by Heinz Doofenshertz as well.
When you have created a Character, you will see a mostly-empty page, from where you can edit your skills, set your skill-queue or create fittings. You can also at any time switch your Active Character by going to the Characters tab and select one. If a Character is selected, it will be highlighted. Be aware that currently Fittings are linked to a Character. Later I'll look at sharing fittings between characters and within a corporation. (fittings and skills will be described separately at a later point.)
Interfacing A separate feature of the system is that it is making the released data available via a selection of public JSON interfaces. Basically, 3rd party sites will be able to browse item-data based on the market groupings (or, CategoryID) and items (typeID), and collect a complete set of data for an item in a simplified form. This interface is described in the Interfacing tab in the top menu, though be aware that it is currently being migrated and may change as a result. Part of it is also, right now, broken!
Browsing The masterdata can also be browsed via the site itself, under the Equipment tab. Various pages of items can be accessed (weapons, suit, vehicles etc), and using a tree based on the Market Groups (CategoryID) you can navigate to locate the items you're interested in. There is also a dynamic Combo-box, which allows you to search for any item by simply typing in part of the name. Please be aware that the tree here is currently based on the EVE SDE, and so will not be 100% correct. The Combo-box, though, will only show 1.7 data from the Dust SDE (I think). When an item has been selected for being shown, an option exists to add it to a comparison queue. When you have done so with 1 or more items, a box will list the item(s) and give the option to display the comparison. A radio-button in the top-right corner of the comparison screen will let you limit the page to only those parameters with differences.
Some of the known issues:
- When creating a new fitting, it will return you to the main page. Simply go to the Fittings tab and select your fitting.
- Suits and Vehicles listing for creating a new fitting is showing EVE SDE data - this will be migrated soon I hope.
- Most Dust corporations are missing - the EVE API is not giving a trivial way to extract them, and while I could simply scrape the EVE API for the data, I've chosen not to do so out of respect to CCP Games.
- The Fitting tool is currently not allowing you to add skills to your skill-queue - this will soon be remedied
- The Fitting tool does not allow you to empty a slot - I need to decide how to make this work
- You cannot delete Characters or Fittings....
- Some item-names do not fit in the UI - I blame CCP! (though I might look at making them fit)
- The item-viewer is not showing all attribute names, sometimes it uses "Display Names Missing" or the raw names - by design, being extended
- Some items are missing icons - CCP has not yet released icons for all relevant typeIDs. Until then, there is nothing I can do.
- Fitting Tool always show a static image of the same suit, no matter what you're fitting - CCP has decided to not release renders or 3d objects for Dust, despite the availability for EVE; something about being 2nd rate citizens in New Eden...
- The site is really buggy - yeah, I'm not actually a programmer...
Finally... ...this is VERY much early access to a site that will hopefully continue to grow. Do not go in expecting something fantastic, it was built for me and my entertainment, and to kick CCP into gear with supporting 3rd party sites, not to be perfect or really for public consumption. If you like it, have requests or would like to file a bug-report, let me know in the comment section below. If you want to complain....

Regarding login - I've chosen to rely on Google's OAuth, in anticipation that CCP Games will create an OAuth-based authentication to New Eden (EVE, Dust, Valkyrie...). As this is not yet available, using Google's system was simply the easiest option, and a reminder to CCP that we need them to move forward here.

I've actually done some testing in the past to see what Dust's gravity was like in relation to Earth's and this makes a lot of sense given my previous testing results ^_^;;;

A couple problems so far, as far as I know there is no way to look up how many wins/losses, only W/L ratio, and my corp does not show up when making my toon, so my toon does not have a corp on the site. Opps, sorry, now I noticed about the corp in the things you listed about the site, should of read that first. :/ XD Keep up the work girl!

Try looking at the leader-boards ... think there is something there... You cannot get DNFs or Assists from the game-client, so consider these fields as "hints" for CCP ...

General warning: Due to an issue with Session-variables, the site may "forget" which mercenary is active, and fail to create a fitting. If you try to create a fitting, and it fails, please go to the Characters tab and select your character again.
The issue seems to occur if it has been too long since a Character was selected/created (e.g. if you've been browsing around in the Equipment section). I'll try to figure out where the much-too-low timeout is set, and increase it, or find a way to detect and warn about the missing Character selection.

i also wanted to report that scan radius shown in the fitting doesn't change when it comes to applying galente scout bonus.
also, a little idea concerning hacking speed, it would be cool if you could add time it takes to hack a objective to reflect changes when applying hacking or codebreakers bonus.

I'll have a look at the scout-suit bonuses - From the look of it, they are a bit stupid (and specific to Gallente Scout suits only).
Don't think we have an official hack-time for an objective, though I recall it is about 10 seconds. i can definitely add something, though for now I'm really wanting to focus on only using values that are official and in the SDE. Objects have different hack-times, so technically we could end up seeing different hack-times for different objectives (Gallente vs Caldary Null Cannon terminals)...

Just to follow up...
The more I look at your site DAYUM! Awesome, awesome, awesome. I wish I had this info available when I was first building my character way back to last February when I started getting my noob booty kicked. Maybe I wouldn't have gotten it kicked so much if I had been able to use this.
I'm definitely going to pass this link along to my corpmates at D-Uni because your site will be very useful in helping noobs figure out the complexities of character creation and fittings. |

Hey G Torq, just an idea:
How about differing colors in differing values when comparing the items?
My old eyes cannot so easily spot the differences and it would be helpful.

When you compare items, top-right there is a button to limit to only the differences - for now I prefer that, due to toolkit limits :)

Somekind of bug (user error?) I encountered:
In the skill queue I have skills which I already have @ 5.
Dropsuit Upgrades (x2)Lvl 1 Dropsuit Command (x4)Lvl 2 Dropsuit Core Upgrades (x5)Lvl 1 Dropsuit Electronics (x3)Lvl 1
I have double checked them from the Skill Groups in the Character screen and Flat list also. What could be the problem?

Am guessing algorithm error - it takes the "wanted" skills, and then goes backwards in the skill-tree until encountering one you have. Maybe I messed up how it recognizes these.
If you look in the flat-list, are these skills set as wanted (>0) explicitly? It should revert any wanted skills once you set that skill as "gotten", though something might have gone wrong there.
Is the character "Repe Susi", or another one?

The 'desired' are all at 0 except Dropsuit Upgrades was 5 and 5 current/desired. I changed it to desired 0 but nothing changed. Now it's back to 5 if you need one skill at 5 and 5 to look up.
And yes, the character is Repe Susi
EDIT:
Now I got the Queue list empty by refreshing the flat list after I changed the desired values at 0.
So I need to refresh the Flat list page before going back to my character?

When CCP release a version of the SDE with 1.8 data, I will start incorporating it. At this point, we have nothing from CCP except the pretty devblogs :(
Note: Initial integration would take a couple of hours, but due to changes around resists (skill and suits giving resists on Infantry level), some aspects would need extensive analysis before being incorporated.

Update: A bug as tracked down, where suit-skills weren't bonusModifiers, but still required tags ... my site basically ignored them. This has now been verified as working properly('ish) - my gallente scouts are calculated with the correct Scan Profiles...

Please note: Following the release of the DUST Uprising 1.8 SDE, I have made an early integration of this version with my website. A very(!) basic test shows it is working, but we have already identified that several things are missing.
* Weapon Proficiency Skill Modifiers * Sentinel Skill Bonuses * Commando Skill Bonuses *...
It seems to be usable, but there are several things that simply cannot be mapped correctly, until we have had a meeting with CCP about these omissions. Meanwhile, have fun

- I noticed that it requires logged in for even for the CLF where it calculates no values
- How would my tool login if it uses Google's OAuth?
I ask because I want to add a new flag to SDETool where for example someone could
wrote:./SDETool -dtdk (fittingID) and it would print all the stats to a nice ASCII chart however it's not possible without logging in which would prove very difficult and from the way my tool works pretty awkward as well having to provide some sort of credentials.

Yeah, just for now, you can try accessing this one fitting: http://dust.thang.dk/rest/getfittingCLF?FittingID=728 It is set to shared, but I need to make some adjustments to be sure things are done properly; right now it will still give a security-related error.
You'll not be able to access the internal format without being logged in. This is on purpose, as it outputs a character/skill-set specific result. For non-authenticated access, use the CLF-based format.

The Weapon statistics section shows incorrect stats. Pretty sure damage-mods and skills should apply, though it shouldn't take the "new" proficiencies into account (they are now surface-specific, instead of dealing with damage-output). Will run another debug on them, see if something has changed.

Edit 2: It doesn't work for forge guns, but it works for other weapons.
Edit 3: I tried th boundless HMG, ishukone FG, SMG, magsec SMG, and bolt pistol and noticed that damage mods work, but reload skills don't. Forge guns stats though don't take into account damage mods.
Also I noticed that I can't fit a light weapon on a heavy weapon slot.

1) Yes, projectile-based weaponry is a bit wonky - the projectile is a separate entity, so the damage-mod is applied in a silly way. Will debug (eventuall) and review. Forgegun, Flaylock and Swarms are ca the only infantry weapons affected, while missile-turrets and large rail-turrets are affected too.
2) Never actually looked at reload-skill, though it should apply - going to to review, thanks for the heads-up
3) The site is currently having strict slot-relations for everything but grenades (you can fit a small grenade into a large slot ... and vice-versa). I'm aware of this, but holding off until I finally kick myself enough to do the slot-rewrite I've been talking about for 4 months now :)

I found the stats for swarm missile initial speed (50/s), acceleration(100m/s), max speed (500m/s), and life span (9s). I found the information listed under prj_swarmlauncher_std. |
