For the most part, this is true, but some people, like myself, have found ways around that and made pretty good Killer Bee suits. Of course, I'm usually a Logisis, but I have one of those mighty suits.

A logi kills, equips, stocks, heals, hacks, and spins plates while I'm sitting on objective bored out of my mind waiting for enemies...
They deserve the points they get. Every kill I get I owe to them. Because they allow my easement in battle. *My role is Cannon Fodder Fixed that for you, Although this does show the problem with the game, everyone wants to be a slayer, but this is a team game. The two do not mix and is why ultimately assault suits will never be happy. I can be a slayer if need be but I just want to be a logibro nothing more nothing less I protect myself I don't want to shoot unless provoked :( I love healing my team and getting a message saying "thanks for the heals,ammo, rezz, etc" It makes my job enjoyable and makes me want to continue living in New Eden.
But, besides DS's, Logibrethern are the most thankless job in this game.

Hey, I've done both. They aren't easy, and we're not in very high demand. I applaud you on your logibrethern status.
