Like AI2 pointed out above... Team Kong is the team that is responsible for pretty much everything that occurs in battle. Weapon mechanics, Suits and movement speeds, controls & controller layouts, etc.
That's why content is coming out at a snail's pace. Because there is too much stuff to do and all of it is being lumped on like four dudes.
What you /should/ be calling for instead is the creation of a balance team who can relieve Team Kong of that particular burden and spend their time playing and communicating with the community so that they know what is "broken" and both sides are clear on their respective visions for each asset in the game and how/when it should be used/useful.
(Because CCP DOES have the ability to patch balance on an almost -daily- basis if they had the desire to do so. Without needing to submit any of it to Sony, or do a client side update via PSN. It just isn't done because there's nobody focusing on balance on a day-to-day basis, and team Kong only looks at it when their team is assigned to do so by the bigwigs who do release planning. ) Agree with this. At this stage of the game balancing is becoming more and more important, but also more and more time-consuming as weapons/suit/vehicle/equipment lineups fill out and knock-on effects multiply and convolve.
And when we consider that Team Kong's execution of their core responsibility(hands-on gamplay) is going to make or break the reputation of this game as a serious FPS, saddling them with something as community-interaction and time intensive as balancing would be working against ourselves.
We need to get to the point where reviewers are forced to re-evaluate past experience and come to respect DUST's core mechanics and features. Delaying this costs us in multiple ways. Furthurmore, imo at least, those aspect's of Team Kong's purvue that bear on the NPE should be identified as the holy grail of development priorities at this point, and the EP should be directly championing Team Kong and creating an environment where nothing stands in the way of polishing the NPE to AAA standards.
I support SP rollover.
