Is the Blaster variant of the Sniper Rifle. So all we need is the Precision Rifle and some bastardized Pulse Laser sniper variant for the Amarr and we've got racial parity in Sniper Rifles too!
Anyone else have any other ideas regarding racial parity in weapons?

Not trolling at all, blasters are short range, high damage wepons.
Plasma Cannon == Blaster Sniper Rifle

Ok, so I didn't say that it was intended, just that it seems very plausible to me.
Might be a cop-out too if they did repurpose it though, I still think it would be hilarious.

I suspect you are trolling, but I'm pretty sure the Plasma Cannon isn't the Gallente Sniper Rifle. Ehhh ive gotten some pretty long range kills with my favorite cannon here XD he may have a point...

the plasma cannon is in the racial light AV catagory. Sorry. Not an AV weapon. technically it IS Hmmmmm. I respectfully disagree. Just because something works against vehicles doesn't make it an AV weapon. An HMG can blow up a LAV. Does that make it an AV weapon?
Yeah, I've actually blown up an HAV with my Toxin SMG.

Given that fact I believe that makes the PLC the most versatile weapon in the game. Even more so than FG because you can run it on any suit.

Meh, it is more about the Plasma Cannon anyway, I still think it is a good analogue. A very good argument has been made for it being the Gallente Blaster Sniper Rifle.

It does win the funny award. I have to go to push to talk when I use it due to excessive giggling. The only thing that could be funnier are the eventual PLC is OP threads... the PLC is definatly the best AV weapon outside of av granades for inside of cities where forge guns are too slow and swarms hit things before they reach the target. i expect that to get much more evident once 1.7 hits. im cheering you guys on like nobody else :P i dont use it personally (minmatar purist) but i love the thing.
I know that I always chuckle when I see it in the kill feed. Plasma Cannon, the only really viable sniper rifle for ground sniping.
