If that does manage to happen, all that will come out of it is negating the work you just put in to outdate "Tiers". When you introduce your "Tech - 2", that will create a Tier in itself and now you have the same problem that you did before, just under a different title. Im not trying to be rude, im just pointing this flaw out bud.

Also hard eearned in Eve...this proposal is like a fine wine, the cheap stuff will get you drunk, the expensive stuff will get you drunk, you just want to class it up a bit. If you haven't already realized, the Standard level is T1, advanced T2, and Proto is T3 to use Eve terms. I have to politely disagree. Our modules are currently Tech 1. From Militia to Prototype. There are "Prototype" Tech 1 modules in EVE, that is what the named ones are and they are expensive (sometimes more expensive than the same Tech 2 module). CCP has stated that Tech 2 modules will come at some point in DUST, but not yet. And yes, I agree that you spent 2x - 3x more SP to get to Prototype. And that is where suit bonuses come in. If you look at my above post you'll see that your level V in Amarr Medium suits gets you +15% damage and 25% reduced heat buildup while as a new players with level I in Amarr Medium suits gets them +3% damage and 5% reduced heat buildup. You have +12% damage and 20% less heat buildup over that new player as your reward for skilling to level V. You shouldn't also get 3 more high slots, 2 more low slots, 1 more equipment slot and in some cases, a sidearm. That is where it gets unbalanced. Remove tiers, implement good skill bonuses on suits, and balance will be better for everyone.
I don't completely disagree with the idea, As far as the skill bonusus only that could be something I would not mind. again though, if your trying to remove "Tiers" period, then you cant have a "Tech - 1" And a "Tech - 2" cause that's just another tier of equipment in itself that specializes in a specific role. It doesn't have to suck at all of the other roles either, because of the different options we can put on a suit, you could easily have a balance of sorts. It still wont be the best at everything, but when you factor in the skill bonuses for other areas such as Armor, Shield, and efficiency of modules, plus proficiency in weapons, it more than evens out the playing field in your favor. |

That's what a good few people are trying to advocate here. were not trying to get rid of the system so much as working to make it more enjoyable for all people to any play, regardless of skill level. Im all for being able to show off how much time and effort you put off into this game, otherwise I wouldn't have even invested money into it. But when I come across a match where my fully Advanced Caldari Assault Suit still doesn't even pay off for itself, what more can you expect from me than frustration at not being able to hold up my end of the bargain still even after almost 8M worth of lifetime SP? That's why I wholeheartedly agree for any type of matchmaking that involves playing at certain levels of skill. Whether that's playing proto to proto, adv. vs. adv. or stand. vs. stand. Or in one case that I have seen ((though I don't believe this idea will work that well at all)) balancing out teams by totaling the SP count on both sides, there needs to be something that will try to keep everyone happy. The only problem I can see with the first option I presented would be that our proto players would be forced to fight on even playing fields now and they would b**** ((excuse the language)) and moan about not having easy matches anymore, that they would get their almost guaranteed right at killing academy fresh newberries taken away and its just not fair anymore to them like the bubble blown babies that they are. This comment isn't directed to anyone with proto gear at all, just the ones that go into matches with full proto gear, knowing full well they face a almost completely fresh team if not a semi decent one.

I'm at 8 mil too and use the same suit but on 12 / 10 / 2013 that will all change , also there are just some excellent players in this game where no matter what you put them in , they just seem to find a way to win . Most of the time skill plays a big part but the bigger part is the opponent's mind and how it works . Some are just skillful at killing more so than others . I wouldn't mind prototype players playing matches strictly against each other . Why isn't that fair ??? That is the best against the best isn't it ??? I see so many people on here saying that they are the best and asking who's the best ...???... so this can solve all of that . But it won't happen .
Thats all fine and dandy too, i dont care about really good players putting some good justifiable work in, I support that wholeheartedly too especially when they face impossible odds. But why must we make that type of matchup to begin with? hell, if you want to handicap yourself on purpose then so be it, props to you for going the extra mile and showing off like the boss that you are
What about the rest of the teammembers though? i know full well i dont want to be in handicap matches like this, I normally start off with only one suit now ((the above one)) just to test the waters, if its completely one sided then ill switch to frontline and handicap myself even further not because i want to, but because i dont want to lose all of my hard earned ISK to the seemingly invincible team on the other side. Let them have their kills and honor, ((wherever it may be)) they deserve to show off and be badass at this game, just not at the expense of chasing off new recruits to the game who will honestly find the game much too difficult once they get out of the academy.
