Okay guys, a grown out silberback gorilla fighting vs a grown out male polar bear.
Who do you think would win and why?

This is a good argument, considering the 180 kg gorilla vs 410 kg polar bear. Yet, the silverback is more intelligent and has relatively more muscles, a better stance (possibly?) and a thick skin.

Silverback Gorilla hands down. The bear has a stronger bite and weighs a bit more, but the gorilla has strength, intelligence, speed, and aposable thumbs in his favor, and can use 4 limbs and his mouth to fight compared to the bears 2 limbs and mouth. |

Gorilla would win. Not only is it smarter, they're much faster than a polar bear and can latch onto their prey and beat them to death. A polar bear can only take so many gorilla punches to the face before it sustains brain trauma and a broken skull and possibly a broken spine since gorillas can punch that hard.

Would be a pretty crappy school, if they write about a silverback vs polar bear fight, which is really unlikely to happen.

Polar Bear, you guys might have not noticed but it's a F*cking Bear
"A bear, which can be twice a gorillas size. It would just claw the gorilla and a deadly bite. The gorilla how ever will put up a good fight. It won't be easy. If the gorilla does try and headlock the bear it risk a powerful bite from the Bears mouth. Remember that the bear has a short neck. The bear can also stand taller." ~ The all knowing yahoo answers ;)

A gorilla is six times stronger than a really strong human. Look at this sick MF, chilling with his big tummy and breaking small trees: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4amRA0jl0qI
Quote: We need setting. Jungle? Arctic? Neutral ground? Observation deck of a fully armed and operational battlestation? This is a big point! Are there stones the gorilla could use to bash skulls? Are there trees? Let's start with neutral ground, a empty savanna.

It would win points for originality since it's not a wildly explored subject. Beats writing a whole paper filled with facts about something we already know. Ask any teacher how they feel about reading the same things written over and over, it's the creativity that gets you noticed and gets a reader's attention. |

Wouldn't even be a fight. Really. The gorilla would use his intellect to get the fudge out of dodge.
P.s. On another note, the gorilla's have been known to pick up clubs as weapons.

Some polar bears can weigh 1,000kg and have 4 inches of blubber as insulation. I'm pretty sure that their size would assume they have considerable strength, they can run pretty fast too, up to 25mph.
if the bear uses all it's weight and charges, pins down the gorilla, then it's game over.
however if the gorilla strikes first and strikes hard it could be game over.
Who has seen them fight? It's a hard one to work out.
