Seriously...this would be a HUGE positive development for a team based games and provide immediate depth to game play and would pay dividends later when they start to tackle increasing team size in battle.

Anyway, thanks for the support. Any game that has more than eight players per team should have this and I'm unaware of any game that has done it besides MAG. Kind of annoying that I always have to mention the game when I'm talking about this system.

As part of Christmas, I always bump a thread.
After carefully rereading the entire feedback/requests section, this thread is surely the one most deserving of that bump.
If CCP implemented the coms system proposed here, it would promote a better understanding, communication and solidarity in game. Totally in consonance with the spirit of this time of the year.
Give us a better coms system, CCP. For Christmas. |

Besides the lack of players on such huge maps, the comms system in Dust is yet another reason why I just find this game so completely farcical in comparison to MAG....
At the very least, when you have such limited amounts of players on such big maps, you should have a much better comms system.
The MAG proxy chat was the best tactical comms method, for immediate area coordination and awareness...you simply talk to the guys around you and tell them whats going on or what you need...nothing complex about that....
The other useful thing was predesignated call outs for certain requirements as posted by OP. This could be implemented and further extended in Dust by having specialised call outs, but on top of that, use special icons for each call out type to replace the standard blue dot icon on the mini map. Eg some other shooters already do this, they might show a skull for a downed player asking for a revive, they might show a special coored spanner for someone calling for repairs etc, a flashing cross for someone who needs a heal...basically stuff like that...
The OP's idea is rock solid based on a lot of hours using a decent comms system in MAG. CCP should listen! |

That's pretty much the same controls as in MAG except MAG used up on d-pad. Push-to-talk is currently taking up left on d-pad, but they can easily just scrap that function, or make either that or this a toggle function and the other a hold function.

I didnt read all the replys all i read was the post. Let me tell you somthing im top 40 in the game been playing ayear and i have been saying i wish coms were like mag i wish every team gam has coms like MAG it was the best in the industry in ky opinion when it comes to coms.....CCP dont know what you allowed to do when it comes to copy a game. But yes I agrre and so does many other ex MAG players sver true blood killem quick and some others are from MAG and yes CCP the coms in MAG would make this game awesome but wow you guys been saying this a year now and no DEV cares yet I see. Not cool CCP give us better coms and the ability to make full teams so we can truly practice together. Dont go off topic this is about coms but just saying can we practice together without que syncing sometime this century that would be awesome thank you |

Just discovered today and seriously, bump.
This should have come in before FW. FW should have been run with this level of communication in mind considering the cluster-f@ck communicating with eve pilots is now.
They can brag about a connection between dust and eve all they want, but when the connection is nothing more than scrambled typing into the chat window where they need to jump (and hope they make it) and praying they see our OB request and don't drop it on our heads 4 mins later...that is one sh*tty connection.
