I can barely afford to run my proto suit w/gear and sometimes ( most of the time) i have to run a BPO assault suit w/toxin assault rifle just to save isk..Am i the only person this broke? |

Use the "Ratchet" Method:
Fix a limit, let say 1,000,000 ISK increment.
As soon as you amass 1 mil. you "lock" it. You can't use it anymore. Though, you can use any excedent (1 to 999,999 ISK) when you need to buy stuff; but you can never pick into the millions you have "ratcheted" away.
Works for me!
I use a mix of expensive and cheap suit to allow some flexibility.
I'm now at 90 millions. you can easily save 1 to 2 mil. a day using this method.

Run ADV then. I earn money with those suits. No need to go all the way to proto in matches where you'll be losing money after 2 deaths. Why didn't you think of that before going broke?

Proto gear is made to use in special important occasions and not full time. You need to balance power with ISK

Sitting pretty 50mill and im considerd poor, i also have 100 officer assult rifiles and 50 balac offiser suits and an angle cartel LAV that im pretty sure im one of the last people to have as none of the other imperfects seem to play now lol

Yes, near 1/4 Billion ISK but my Sniper suits are 200,000 a pop.

I'd compare this to something like "I can't afford to eat out at the best restaurants every night, I'm broke".
Lots of people being able to afford to run proto gear all time would be a sign of a broken game. CCP want you to invest your time to earn your proto suits, so that when you put it at risk in a battle it feels dangerous. That feeling of danger is what makes Dust better than every other FPS.

I rarely run full prototype. Usually its just an advanced suit and weapon with a few prototype level modules. Because I do that I'm not broke. Consider that the average ISK payment for a public match is about 200K, unless you are in the top one or two slots, and then balance your average losses versus the cost of your suits.
When you run into full prototype players consider the fact that they only run with full squads to back them up. They lose fewer suits because of that.

I started using ADSs right after they announced the vehicle respec that was coming (yea, I know, I'm not a real pilot) and have been thoroughly enjoying them, but this statement is highly accurate. I've watched my bank account dwindle. Only reason I feel comfortable doing it is because of a couple Falchions I have that will get refunded.
Positive, I have stopped pulling out AV to take out DS and even tanks. Probably won't AV much anymore after these past few weeks.

Anyone who jumps in the cockpit and doesn't crash right after takeoff is a pilot in my eyes.
The main problem with DS is the cost. For how easy they are to kill and untill recently no real way to get points (still missi g points for spauning in my logi DS ((tho they won't be here much longer)) and adding transport/scaning points) wich made then a useless (altho fun as hell to fly) flying money sink. With new balance ability to get more points and new types/roles coming once the foundation is laid I expect the value to catch up with the price and one day hopefully exceed it. |

Once in a time, you can go on a shopping spree; restock your favorites Fittings up to 100 and then go back to the Rachet Method. You'll be good for a while!
You can punctually restock batches of Modules and Gear when you're "loose" on ISK, too.

PC players making proto seem the norm in pubs has confused you I am afraid.
I do pretty well isk per match wise ( 250-350k is average) but there is no chance I could (even if I unlocked full proto) run the stuff battle after battle.
I run a mix of militia/standard and sometimes advanced stuff and watch the isk roll in. my suit cost range is 4k-50k |

No player can afford to use protogear in pubs indefinitly. Often, you die less in proto. but usually 2 deaths is your limit. Eventually you'll have a rough game and lose a million in gear.
Protostompers who brag about being able to afford it all have big corp backing and/or back out of matches a lot. The game was designed this way, otherwise proto gear would be even more common.
If you don't have corp backing and don't feel like using b*tch tactics, then only run what you can afford.
The meaning of broke is lost on you until you become a vehicle user. You can go broke in a day as vehicle user than get rich again the next, but often go back to being broke.
Pinch pennies on your dropsuits if you have to. Use cheaper racial fits, mix in more advanced and basic gear, use GEKs over Duvolles, etc. A good rule of thumb is: build suits you can afford to die 10x, 5x. and 1x in and use them with sound judgement. |

I proto stomp 24/7 and make more then I lose. You guys/ladies need to pick your battles. If you see a whole Proto corp on other team, pull out the sniper rifle. Better yet, just sit on the rail turret. Yesterday i pocketed 10 mill for a few hours. Was getting 5-700k a match. Killing people is not enough. I've killed 40+ in a match and only made 2-300k.
