Hello.
I don't think I'm going to re-invest my SP into tanks after the vehicle respec, but I would like to test them before deciding.
I'm looking for a Madrugar pilot wishing to spend some of his/her time to help me, letting me try a decent Madrugar for a couple games.
Of course, I'm going to pay for every tank I lose + an extra for your time and your kindness.
Thank you very much.
Best Regards.

I know I will be.
The tanks should be much better to use in the new patch, if only because AV will be quite a bit softer. No more invisible swarms hitting you from halfway across the map. And because of the decrease in range, it's much more likely you'll actually see the rounds.
While the tank defences are taking a hit, their weapons are getting much better too. Because of the change to an ammo-based system, they've dialed back a lot on heat generation. A railgun using the stats they've posted will beable to empty an entire 9 round magazine, and only use up 3/4 of it's heat. Even the small railguns look much better for dealing with light vehicles. And the burst damage on the large missiles is extremely impressive.
I may not be available right away on the 10th, but if I am give me a shout and we can talk about the new tanks. |

I have all the time to decide.

I would also consider looking at the Gunnlogi as a viable option now. With the massive boosts to hardeners, boosters, shield regen, etc., I personally see the Gunnlogi as the better option, at least on paper.

I think right now the gunloggi will be better but when or if ADV/Pro tanks come out the armor will be better.

It's going to eat me up inside as I sit on like 9 million skill points as I wait to see if they are worth speccing into.

I think the Gunnlogi is going to be the ultimate anti-tank. Extreme power for a very limited amount of time.
It's going to be hard to stay alive into prolonged battles, though, since they will be very vulnerable during the modules cooldown (by this I mean more than Madrugars).

Because of the lowered slot layouts though tanks will still die if you over-expose them. But the AV changes with the new shield recharge changes for vehicles will mean you'll see more tanks being deployed to deal with tanks. That or Forge Guns as their nerf wasn't very hard and will still be quite potent.
I may not be available right away on the 10th, but if I am give me a shout and we can talk about the new tanks. AV damage is reduced by 1/3. tanks have been nerfed by over 1/2. do your math and you will see what I mean. |

It's going to be hard to stay alive into prolonged battles, though, since they will be very vulnerable during the modules cooldown (by this I mean more than Madrugars). I made a fit on the 1.7 fitting tool stickied here with 2 shield hardeners and a shield booster. Staggered, the shield hardeners grant over 6k of shield ehp for one minute with a fifteen second cool down (max skills), plus and instant 2k base shield boost if things get sour. And with the shield regen rate increased, it only takes 16 secs to fully regen shields. (And can still fit a proto blaster and its two lows, not that there's much to put in lows though).
Of course this just on paper, and whether it's better than Maddy or not, what is certain is that it will be better than shield tanks currently.

By nerfing the higher tiers, it is a bit of a buff on militia tanks. They will have the same speed and base hitpoints, and I expect the militia railgun to be even better than it is now, both for AV and sniping infantry.
